Is it still impossible to update a PS4 with a broken BD? Had HEN 4.74 had its functionality expanded?

Is it still impossible to update a PS4 with a broken BD? Had HEN 4.74 had its functionality expanded?

IT IS now possible using Lightning Modz tools, to update from 4.74 to 5.05, however it is unstable and risky.

also he has a 5.05 CEX to semi dex tool, but not much works once “converted”:

Tip: you should make a cloned drive to ensure you can recover if anything goes wrong.

Its no good

everything works up until i try to update and then it says the file is corrupted

Ive tried multiple update files as well as differrent USB drives formatted in both FAt32 and ExFAT and no dice

not sure what im missing here. does teh BD drive need to be connected?
