Hacking 4.20 spoof and update data makes games return error code

Specifically Mortal Kombat BLUS-30522.............The game functioned fine and then after installing the 4.20 spoof I tried to see what games worked online and accepted the updates.........afterwards the game no longer works so I went into game data on xmb and there is no update there. I then went on my external hdd and looked in the GAMES folder and found the folder, but the update folder is empty..........also, the param SFO is still written to 3.55...........so, where did the update go so I can delete it? Perhaps, I need to edit the param to revert to an earlier update? Thanks in advance.

Updates go in the game folder not the games folder.

I managed to fix this by again putting in the mK9 update pkg that I had already previously put in. Thank you for your help Magsor.

So with this, can you play games that need higher fw than 3.55? E.g. SSF4 AE needs 3.73 non AE doesnt. Only interested in offline play.

No; with the 4.20 spoof you can only play online. You would need a fixed(hacked) eboot in order to play newer game. A few newer games have those.

no it's for any 3.55 cfw

Oh I remember now lol. Tried that last time, it worked but after installing 2012 pkg it stopped working so done a fresh install but didnt work anymore so stuck with just super

AE worked before but after installing 2012 pkg it broke it

I haven't been keeping up with the scene much lately, but I do recall they recently released a patch that lets you go online. This still works even with the 4.20 update? I figured it would have been patched almost instantly.
