Hacking 3ds XL Questions and help

Hello,

Currently i have a 3ds XL on 9.2 which auto boots into Gateway mode.
I read allot about al9h and was wondering if it is worth me adding it.
Could someone please explain the benefits to me?
Could someone also please explain step by step how i can add al9h as i am a nood with it.
Do i still use my Gateway card afterwards?
