Since we all know the 3DS is gonna have 3-5hrs of battery approx. I was wondering if anyone knows where to find a good reputable site that sells replaceable 3DS batteries, preferably one that comes with the screw driver necessary to unscrew and replace the battery. Also google did show some results but I wasn't sure which one or place had the best deals and were reliable. I think this info would benefit people looking to buy batteries for their 3DS as most will be looking for options to extend battery be it batteries themselves or other accessories that enhance hours to be able to play on the 3DS for longer.

i saw a battery which can double life and also acts as a grip but i cant remember the name

Hardware peripheral specialists Nyko has unveiled the Power Pack+, its solution to the 3DS's modest, much maligned battery life.

The add-on promises to double the handheld's reported three hour capacity. You'll need to clip your 3DS onto the unwieldy cell to take advantage of the added power, although Nyko has included "debossed finger rests for improved control and comfort."

"Every new console or game system launch is an opportunity for us to find ways to improve the user's experience with the device through innovative technology," said Nyko markting man Chris Arbogast.

"We are proud to be able to bring our robust knowledge of charging technology to the 3DS user base by providing users the ability to substantially increase their play time."

The Power Pack+ launches in the US on 27th March for $19.99 - the same day as the console itself. Nyko hasn't confirmed UK details yet.

Whoops, you've already found it.
@OP, you might not want to replace it. There rumors going around that if you replace the battery with a 3rd party battery, your 3DS may get bricked or may refuse to work.

The rumors are just that. Rumors. They aren't going to remote brick your system based on your battery. Worst case scenario they issue an update that causes it to stop recognizing unauthorized batteries so you have to stick the original battery back in.

Seriously STFU with the stupid troll shit.
(subconsciously alliterated myself)

Honestly I'm more concerned in how safe it is to use a third party battery. What if it leaks or I dare say, explodes? Yeah that's right if you use the Nyko one, the entire back you hold onto while playing the 3DS is the battery and that could be bad. I think chances are low to mid of this occurring but I'd wait it out to be safe to see what happens with that.

That and if something happens to the 3DS you'll still have to pay to get it repaired no? I'm sure if this were the case with an official Nintendo battery it'd be different. Something to think about.
