Instructions for replacing textures​

  • Right-click on your game in the games list and select Open Custom Texture Location to open the folder where custom textures will be loaded from.
  • Place your custom texture .png files in the folder.
  • In Emulation > Configure... > Graphics > Enhancements, enable Use Custom Textures and click OK.
    • Additionally, if you want your custom textures to be pre-loaded to RAM, enable Preload Custom Textures as well. This will help improve the performance but will also increase memory usage.

Notes
Animation cut-ins often aren't applied the first time they're displayed, but will work correctly from the second time.

If you experience crashes with Vulkan, try using the OpenGL graphics API.

Using the "Preload Custom Textures" option with the DDSx8_9GB version requires a huge amount of memory (64GB or more!), so only use it if your PC has plenty of memory.

Custom texture loading issues are likely to occur in the final stage, so try re-enabling it by pressing the "Toggle Custom Textures" hotkey.

If you don't like the custom textures of my pixel art, you can delete the "pixel" folder in the texture pack and get just the pixel art back.

This looks fantastic! Thanks for making it.

What upscaling model/models did you mainly use? I should go back and update/finish my Namco X Capcom pack with it, those portraits look straight up official.

I mainly used SeedVR2 3B as the upscaling model. However, when I upscaled portraits, the eyes and mouths looked messy, so I fixed that with StableDiffusion.

I used SeedVR2 and Stable Diffusion from comfyui.
First, I enlarged the texture by 8x using SeedVR2, then added detail and refined it using Stable Diffusion.

Sorry for the late reply, but did you use SeedVR2 as a standalone app or within something like ComfyUI? And what Stable Diffusion model did you use?
I have published a tutorial on the workflow of comfyui, which created custom textures for pxz. Please feel free to use it as a reference.
