Is it possible with Gateway to play online now. Even when Emunand doesnt support 8.0.
I never had my 3ds online.

I dont really know how to set up the connection. I have one game to dump the header, but still i afraid im doing something wrong.

And do i need to update my emunand.
Could someone explain to me how this works precisely because i think many people dont know how this really works. Is there any movie tutorial for setting this up.

Thanks alot.

Don

Yes, it is possible. The main thing that will keep you off is if there are any required patches (like for Pokemon or Mario Kart.) If you haven't already downloaded those from the eShop (or in the case of Mario Kart, have the revised version ROM with the patch installed in the ROM itself), then you are going to have to wait until you can get into the eShop again.

Whatever you do DO NOT update emuNAND to 8.0. It will not run anything. Just leave it where it is right now. I can't stress that enough.

As for Mario Kart, there is a ROM out there that is of the revised version of the game that Nintendo released. It already incorporates the patch, so you do not need the eShop patch. :)

really thank you, so its possible when i find this rom i just put it on sd and go start this game and just go online without doing anything with the files?

im really looking forward for this. and try some with other games later when gw accepts 8.xxx.:) thank you so much for helping me with this game. You have any advice for me what not to do?

No problem! :)

My only advice is the usual. Don't update your sysNAND and do not update emuNAND until Gateway release their patch.

ok, i still dont know if its worth for me because i have mariokart 8 on the wii u:). So i think i wait for an easier online playing setup without doing headers and stuff save files. I get a headache when i read those things. N im so afraid to brick it or something what is bad for the 3ds

Bricking isn't that much of a problem with Omega. I actually don't recall there ever being a legit Gateway brick since they rolled out this version. The people who have actually analyzed the code have shown that even though it is still there, there are multiple checks that have to be tripped before it bricks anything now.

I cant play online with any games. Do you have to change 3ds to 3dz or something specific to go online?

When I tried to go online it gave me an error. "You cant play online with this game cart'?

You have to change the extension to .3DZ in order to go online. Furthermore, the game has to have a valid header. If you dumped your own ROM, it's already on there. If not, then you most likely will have to splice a valid header on there. You can find that info out in the official how to thread for that.

saves are bound to an ID in the games header, a "normal" rom, meaning a scene release, doesnt have this ID, you need to insert the ID into the .3dz rom, hence your .3ds rom save still works on the .3ds rom, but not on the .3dz rom, because of the different header information
only way you could still use the .3ds save file on the .3dz rom, would be if you actually backed up your own game with your gateway, then the .3ds rom would already include said header information and you wouldnt have to inject someone elses ID
own backup --> 3dz can keep saves
scene release --> 3dz cant keep saves

edit: guess I was misinformed

Even if it's his own dump with his own valid header changing the extension to 3dz causes the header to be used thus making the save incompatible,.3ds games ignore the header even.if it's present

But with certain games if you make a dump and change it to. 3dz you can extract the save from the cart and use it with the .3dz dump but that only works with certain games

thx for correcting me, guess I was misinformed, wonder where I read that though, anyways I changed my post
