So basically, I open the screen up and it clicks into place, the clicking seems to be louder so I compared it with my cousin's and it is... so, this is probably just me being paranoid but i can also see the hinge on the left side and it also has the known wobble problem. I was curious to what extent the hinge problem would reach?

Erm. My 3DS has the same "problems". It hasn't gotten worse since I've owned it, and I've had no problems with it at all.

Though it is odd that my friends 3DS' L and R buttons click when pushed, and mine go down quiet.

Out of curiosity, I have the same problem with mine. Where on the left side are you seeing the hinge though? I've had mine for a while and it clicks pretty loud; my best friend and brother have relatively new ones; best friend had for about a month, brother had for a touch over a year, both are great still. Mine also wobbles, but it's not too bad... pretty much just because it's... a hinged screen?

At some point I'm sure you'll see places like dealextreme and tmart carrying replacement 3DS cases.

DX sells the hinge axle.

However it looks to be identical to the DSi one, save for the collar being (possibly) removable on it, but it's half the price. http://dx.com/p/repair-parts-replacement-flip-open-screen-shaft-for-ndsi-dsi-24846

Except if these are anything like the DS Lite, it's not the axle, it's the shell. Which... yeah.

I've had mine about two now. It's loud, but nothing looks broken or anything. It just wobbles a bit and clicks pretty loud, but other than that it seems pretty solid still.

At least I've yet to hear any of anyone's 3DS hinge breaking open like was so prevalent with the DS lite.

Never had a problem with a Nintendo console, but man, just seems like the Nintendium just got borked with the DS generation. :(
