if i apply the patch then cut the line will I be able to update to the newest r4 firmware or are there only specific firmware I can update?

was gonna play orig pokemon y on my 3ds and also planning to update my 3ds to the latest one

idk tbh, you should be able to just run whatever is the newest update for your card, check what FW the update supports supports

i know some cards just get dropped after a certain point and they release a new revision that they will provide updates to
