Need help restoring my 3ds from bricked state

All I get is the Black screen and can't even get to boot it

That is still not enough to try finding the reason.

Does the 3DS have custom firmware installed?
What did you do last time it worked?
Any known hardware problem? Did you drop it?

I did have the bs9 custom firmware installed, I think I might e erased a file or 2 by accident

Do you still have access to Luma3DS settings by holding (Select) on power on?
The same question for access to GodMode9 by holding (Start) on power on.

Make sure you have the latest Luma3DS (boot.firm file) in the root of the sdcard, and test again. But as Kleines said, we need more info, it could be an easy fix like it's just missing the boot.firm file, but could be something else..

The same question for access to GodMode9 by holding (Start) on power on.

I've tried both select and start while trying to boot up, it's still at a black screen

Do you have a file called "boot.firm" in the root of your SD card? I spent hours trying to fix mine just to find it was in a folder and not the root.

Remove the sdcard and do the same again. Btw, you have to hold (and not just press) either "select" or "start" before powering it on until you see see it either Luma3DS or GodMode9

I have held each button down while I've started up.both still leave me with a black screen
