Hacking 2 disc DIOS MIOS issues

Hey GBATEMP! Long time lurker first time poster with a question about DIOS MIOS.

I'm playing Killer 7 right now with DIOS MIOS and am at the part where I have to switch the discs. Disc 1 is titled game.iso and disc 2 is titled disc2.iso, and they're in the same folder GK7E08 under games. The disc switching happens automatically, but the game just says "checking disc 2" and then reads there was an error and to turn off the system and see instruction manual.
I've tried this with a disc in the drive and without, raw and optimized format, Wiiflow and DM booter, and am using DIOS MIOS 2.9, I still get the same error everytime. Does anyone have any idea how I could fix something like this? Thanks!

This game can't save before the swap?

Could you try to boot from Disc2 first (if you use USBLoaderGX you have a prompt to select which disc to boot, if not then rename disc2 to game.iso), and see if that disc loads fine. Even if you don't have a save, you should be able to see the game menu.
if the menu doesn't work either, maybe Disc2 is a bad rip?

isn't 2 disc support broken in DM 2.9?
Read it in the DM thread but i have not play GC games for quite a while myself

Try with DIOSMIOS 2.8 instead. Two disc switching have issues with latest rev

yeah I think I read 3.0 will fix this, as it appears to be an issue in 2.9
