Hi, I'm discovering the joys of owning a Wii in the year of 2026. Better late than never. Been playing the NTSC Virtual Console version of Star Fox 64 a bunch, and there's this annoying audio distortion that's hard to ignore throughout the game, like the audio is crackling. It's most noticable in the end credits. This video I found on youtube shows it off as well, so I know the issue isn't just on my end: (45:56 in case the timestamp doesn't work) I was surprised how nobody online seems to have discussed this over the years. Has anyone else noticed this or similar issues on other n64 VC releases? Is the cause known? Out of curiosity, I did try the PAL Lylat Wars release, and the audio was perfectly fine in that one.

Known bugs: - Toggling the sound OFF hangs the emulator. - Saves are not working. (since 20260729 build) (FIXED in build 20260811B) - Title name on the game list disappears when it finishes scrolling. - Have at least 24 games. Position the cursor in slot 000, 001, 002, 003, or 004, press right to go down one page. You will only notice visually if you have your covers assigned. - When you launch the emulator from USB, games/art on the device will be ignored if a SD card is also inserted with the same Z-GX folder structure. SD will be prioritized. - When you launch the emulator from USB, and there is a SD card inserted without the Z-GX folder structure present, it will DSI crash. - 12 seconds pause before the game starts booting, affects build 20260811B. - Cover files do not load when you start the emulator from a USB device, yet it will load them if a SD card with the files is inserted before emulator launch. I don't want a guide or anything, but do the 104 stars that you get before the purple comets all come from galaxies in the 5 domes, hungry lumas, and comets? Or are there secret places in the Observatory that you have to find?

Theres no secret places just the obsservatories and hungry lumas. Also find the three green stars so the extra galaxy appears outside

Yeah, 104 is the max you will get now. You have to go to the final galaxy, beat the last boss, and then you will get the 105 star. Then restart your game and you will be able to visit the 15 main galaxys to get the last 15 stars based on the purple comets

also if you beat bowser again after getting the last 15 purple comet stars you can play as luigi. and if you beat the game with luigi you will unlock a finale galaxy with the 121st star
