    Its never taken me 3mins, but there is a longer delay the first time you run the game because it has to write the save information (and probably do some other stuff) to the card on the first time its run. After that, it can skip that step and jump you right in.

    Same directory as the rom. It should also have the same exact name as the rom file name. Example: pokemon.nds would be pokemon.sav

    I've Been using a 2GB Kingston (Japan) for the past couple of months without issue. Their might be some issues with the common culprits (POR, Tony Hawk, etc), but since I don't play those games I can't comment.
