Hardware A weird Switch demo unit

Anybody know how to get tinfoil working? I keep getting the "Unable to start software" error when launching tinfoil. This is on a HWFLY chipped OLED.

Hardware HWFLY Modchip stuck in training

Hey there, I've ran into a weird issue with a chip install. I've used a 4th gen HWFLY OLED chip for a switch lite (which I've done before many times) and the chip LED indicates that it is training. It pulses an orange/green LED and it does this for hours on end. Has anyone seen this issue...

    Who has a 2nd switch?

If you find that you aren't able to use the switch when you want to then I say you should buy another one! I personally have 5 (technically 1 main switch and 4 others I'm selling) so I never really ran into the issue of not being able to play the switch when I wanted to. If I did though, I...

Hardware New 2DS XL turns on for a second then turns off with a speaker “pop"

Got a New 2DS here that I bought off of ebay. Not sure of the history of the device but I assume it was a family owned console with no previous repair attempts. All of the ribbon cables look fine. The battery is charged at 4.16v so a dead battery shouldn’t be the issue. The only areas that...

Hacking Homebrew Transferring Switch Skyrim saves to PC

Does anyone here here have experience with successfully transferring Nintendo Switch Skyrim saves onto PC, so that the save file may be played on via the PC? I'm not sure if it's possible or not. Thank you in advance. Solution: All I had to do was extract the switch save via Checkpoint then...

Hacking How can I transfer Nintendo Switch Skyrim Saves to PC?

Hi there, I've got a question in regards to Skyrim saves. I'd like to transfer my Skyrim Switch saves to my PC but I'm not sure how I'd go about do it. Is it as simple as backing up a save via checkpoint and dragging that .sav file to the PC? I assume Skyrim won't be able to read that save...

Nintendo Switch Liquid Damage, lost cause?

I'd remove the joycon rail from the chassis, wouldn't want to get IPA on the screen. It's held by 5 screws.

Nintendo Switch Liquid Damage, lost cause?

Fortunately all of those components are easily replaceable. Though before you go down that route, I suggest you give cleaning these components another try. A brush of some sort and IPA should work. The goal is to clean the corrosion on the pins within these components.

Hardware Need help with a broken Switch

You'd need a multimeter to test for M9/PI3 which often go bad when the charging port is messed up. A multimeter would also allow you to see if the battery's voltage increases with a charger connected.

Was able to delete everything but the basic CFW and everything worked fine.

Hardware Nintendo Switch OLED - “Unable To Access SD Card”

Unfortunately I think the fault is related to the daughterboard itself or the SOC. There seems to be a ground short on the CMD line which explains why the sd card is being able to be read.

Hardware Nintendo Switch OLED - “Unable To Access SD Card”

A month ago I received an OLED Switch that was in a house fire. I was able to get it working after cleaning out the corrosion and replacing the battery. Switch works fine and haven’t had any issues other than it not being able to read micro SD cards. There isn’t a lot of documentation on OLED...

    v1 can't enter RCM mode

Select diode mode on the multimeter (usually the continuity mode and diode mode mode share the same designator, so it's the mode that create a beep sound when the two prongs make contact). Then put the red probe on ground (charging port, for example) and black probe on one of the test points. I...

Hardware Failed to init eMMC, How Can I get Switch working again?

Was able to get it working, thank you. Did the whole process a 2nd time and it worked. Now that that's done with, would you happen to know which files are safe to delete? The SD card storage is quite full.
