Hacking Switch Informations by serial number - READ THE FIRST POST before asking questions

Looking to buy, There is a lot of "possibly patched" systems around on ebay and locally. Is the chance equal for all possibly patched systems or would a higher number lower the chances? (I assume that this happened because the factory mixed the old unpatched processors with the new ones or...

Hacking Switch Informations by serial number - READ THE FIRST POST before asking questions

The website says that XAW40013XXXX is possibly patched but the post here says definitely patched. I'm going to assume patched but which is more up-to-date? I imagine it's most likely patched. My question is basically: where does this data come from? (The spreadsheet is confusing and doesn't...

Homebrew Is it even worth waiting for homebrew on a patched switch on 10.X.0?

I'm done here, you've gone aggressive & defensive for no reason. I don't know how a question that could essentially be answered with No, there are no new software exploits coming & no one has discovered any for years, it's unlikely a new one would be found soon. Turned into an aggressive debate...

Homebrew Is it even worth waiting for homebrew on a patched switch on 10.X.0?

I CAN'T BELIEVE Nintendo is using the "SUPER VULNERABLE" FreeBSD kernel, a kernel that has existed for DECADES & still has new vulnerabilities TO THIS DAY.

Homebrew Is it even worth waiting for homebrew on a patched switch on 10.X.0?

IDK why you've decided to be a dick for no reason. It's a fact that Microsoft was more advanced compared to Nintendo with the security of their early 2000s devices (Hypervisors & efuses on 360 while Nintendo was still figuring out how to make a good RSA implementation on the Wii).

Homebrew Is it even worth waiting for homebrew on a patched switch on 10.X.0?

    >Doubts that the Switch is a magic machine that will never be exploited in SW ever again Random GBATemp user: I mean you act like you're an expert at microsoft and nintendo security This conversation is going nowhere, (how) can I close my thread?

Homebrew Is it even worth waiting for homebrew on a patched switch on 10.X.0?

You're really comparing Microsoft's security to Nintendo's? Also IIRC, there was a softmod for the 360 (King Kong exploit?)

Homebrew Is it even worth waiting for homebrew on a patched switch on 10.X.0?

I find that very hard to believe. What's the reasoning behind this?

Homebrew Is it even worth waiting for homebrew on a patched switch on 10.X.0?

I don't think I was clear in the post, I know for sure I am on Mariko, I know there are no software exploits atm or incoming. My question is if an actual software exploit is foreseeable or if I can use the mod chips without using the proprietary SX bootloader or OS.

Homebrew Is it even worth waiting for homebrew on a patched switch on 10.X.0?

No, I have not installed any mod chips or anything. I'm still on a pure Switch that hasn't been exploited yet.

Homebrew Is it even worth waiting for homebrew on a patched switch on 10.X.0?

Hello, 2 years ago I posted a thread to this forum asking whether or not I should wait for homebrew. The responses back then were essentially no unless you want to use the crappy SX thing. I am back, still on Mariko 10.2.0, I ask once again; Is there a way to get Atmosphere (or whatever the...

Hacking Modifiy system NAND outside of IOS (yes I am aware of the risks and I do have a BootMii Boot2 backup

I don't understand both options, are you suggesting I get a 4.3 U System Menu WAD from NUS Downloader and install it using something like mod mii. What settings do I input into NUS to get the proper wad (patch IOS, keep encrypted / decrypted contents, etc). What do I lose if I reinstall the...

Homebrew What ever happened to MailBrick Fix

My Wii is most likely Mail bricked, is there a way I can fix this. I found an application called de1ete mail brick fix (something along those lines) that was recommended to a user on these forums however I cannot find the application now. I can't delete cdb.vff myself. Is there an archive of...

I don't understand how this helps me. Isn't there a homebrew application that can fix mail brick. I like my games and save data.

Hacking Modifiy system NAND outside of IOS (yes I am aware of the risks and I do have a BootMii Boot2 backup

My Wii has been having an issue where it boots to a black screen after the health and warning, EXCEPT in maintenance mode. After a few months of trouble shooting I have narrowed down the issue to possibly be the file /title/00000001/00000002/data/cdb.vff. After messing around with the file in...

Homebrew Question Would someone in my situation ever get homebrew

How difficult would it be to get your hands on a mod chip if it were to come out and how difficult would it be to install (if you already had soldering experience with small electronics). I would be willing to purchase and install a mod chip if one were to be released. ? Are you talking about...
