Xbox announces "Project Helix", their next generation console for Xbox and PC games

I agree. Imo Project Helix, if it even sees the light of day, is the last twitch before rigor mortis sets in. I do wish for healthy competition but Xbox has next to nothing going for it anymore.

Nintendo Switch 2 announced by Nintendo

As long as it's able to run the majority of games at 60fps I'm good. I for one am glad they're not experimenting with different input methods and stick to a tried and tested design. I hope that the screen will be an OLED, would be a shame to get a lesser quality screen compared to my current Switch.

Alan Wake 2 boasts 30 fps on new powerful PS5 Pro!

What a shocker. There will always be games having modes running lower than 60fps even on the PS5 Pro. Might be because of an incapable dev, “artistic choice” or just because a game really is this demanding. Preferring the advantages of a console more than the ones of a gaming pc, for me the...

Leak claims a PlayStation 5 Pro will launch later this year

Does Sony indeed claim/brag about having the best (console) graphics? Yes, technically the Series X has the most power and in theory should be able to have the best performance in games. In reality however there is little difference; some games perform better on Series X, some better on the...

Leak claims a PlayStation 5 Pro will launch later this year

Great. Will be an instabuy when it comes out. Looking about the same as the PS4 to PS4 Pro upgrade which isn't a bad thing. If I'm able to play PS5 games at a higher framerate (fidelity settings/4K @ 60fps) I'm content. I'll sell my current PS5 then and will have the best in console gaming for...

Hwfly install - now emmc read only?

I got this one. Alignment was ok but indeed not very smart for the screwhole to be integrated. 1688587709 I could still boot into Hekate and dumped the keys using the Lockpick. That was all that was required from my Switch, the process using EmmcHaccGen was pretty straightforward. From the...

Hwfly install - now emmc read only?

Solved! Here's what I did. I restored the nanddump again (made one even though the Switch would only boot into Hekate), checked if the partitions were present again which they were. After that I opened the Switch again for inspection, my soldering was in perfect order as far as I could see and...

Hwfly install - now emmc read only?

I did a emmc raw restore and now the partitions are showing again. So it seems writing to the emmc is possible. Still no boot info CFW or OFW. Systemrestore gave me the fatal write failed error again; After that I restored boot0 and boot1 using Hekate. Trying to launch CFW (latest HATS...

Hwfly install - now emmc read only?

Hi Randy, thanks for your reply. It's an SK Hynix, here's the information, the partition information looks intact I think I did try different DAT0 adapters without result. The diodereading is fine. I encountered another topic...

Hwfly install - now emmc read only?

Hello all, -Installed Hwfly V5 on Switch OLED, flashed it with Hwfly-nx firmware. Installed it using DAT0 adaptor, no reflow, -Would boot to Hekate, although boot times around 30 seconds. Did not boot into OFW or CFW. -read on a topic here that some hwfly's are clones and only worked correctly...

Sony releases official PS VR2 headset and controller teardown videos

Reviewembargo of the VR2 has lifted. Of course some persons raise the issue of the cable which is only seen as a minor shortcoming and also the price. Also, and validly, people worry about a potential lack of (quality) games in the future. The overall consensus is extremely positive however...

Sony releases official PS VR2 headset and controller teardown videos

In that same line of thought in the 90's you could claim "Don't buy a console until 2000 when they will be fully 3D rather than the blocky 2D games we get nowadays".

Sony releases official PS VR2 headset and controller teardown videos

It seems it does not need a fancy cpu in it. From all the impressions I've seen and read both from amateurs and VR veterans the overall experience is better then high end PCVR setups costing -far- more.

Sony releases official PS VR2 headset and controller teardown videos

I think Sony made the right decision going for a truly top quality device instead of entry- to midlevel VR for maybe 200 bucks less. Of course I would also have liked a lower price but it's already amazing that the VR2 apparently surpasses top end PCVR headsets costing far more, not forgetting...

    Misc PS5 M2SDD quit working in PS5

That's also the reason why I have a 2TB WD sn850x installed and all data moved from the PS5's ssd to the WD. By installing games to the WD I keep the usage to the onboard ssd as low as possible. Writes to the internal ssd can be spread over a very large area of free space to the wear will be...

PS VR2 to launch in February at $549.99

I expected this kind of price, perhaps a bit higher given the impressive specifications. Also very few people seem to realize that the use of OLED and HDR should be able to deliver superior levels of contrast and true blacks which should contribute quite a bit to image quality and atmosphere...

PlayStation State of Play - April 2021 - Among Us coming to PS4/PS5

I could be mistaking but afaik even with that enormous headstart PC loading times are still far worse in general then those on XsX or PS5. Even using NVMe. Of course, PC gaming has its own advantages.

Hacking TX releases English SX Core and Lite documentation

From both manuals in the FAQ: Q - How difficult is this installation? A - This is an advanced installation, if you don't have the proper tools or experience, we recommend contacting your local tiny soldering guy or modshop to have the installation done for you. LOL!!
