Hacking Homebrew A new way to experience StreetPass

Same here, I just installed this on my 3DS for the first time and am getting these errors for all but one outbox (4/7). I also encounter the issue when trying to enter a location.

Homebrew TWPatcher - DS(i) mode screen filters and patches

I tested this out just now on my New 3ds (non-xl) and I have a few observations. Firstly, in the "Bilinear+4grid" above, there appear to be exactly 4 pixels in each "box" of the grid, which is not the case in the experimental 4grid, which by my counting contains either 9 or 16 pixels (eyesight...

    Homebrew RELEASE sys-clk under/overclocking sysmodule

How much of a difference is the strain on the battery in handheld between 1785mhz cpu, 1600mhz ram, and 460mhz gpu, and 768mhz gpu with everything else stock? Does the gpu require more power to scale frequency than the other components? Has any testing been done to determine this?

    Hacking Discussion Stagefright exploit

According to switchbrew: "the Album process itself uses libstagefright for video playback." Although I'm not sure that means some sort of attack via the album with signed videos could occur. https://switchbrew.org/wiki/Capture_services

Hacking Question Technical reason for lack of permanence in CFW?

Thank you very much for your explanation! I have one question though: Isn't the part on 3ds. guide "Finalizing setup Section VI - CTRNAND Luma3DS" permanently installing Luma3DS to nand as a fallback? I understand that usually the luma3ds boot.firm is loaded from the SD card at boot by B9S.

Hacking Question Technical reason for lack of permanence in CFW?

Does anybody know the reason that there is no current way to establish permanence of CFW even with ring 0 (?) access before horizon even boots? I understand that there is currently no software coldboot exploit on any firmware other than 1.0.0 (maybe), and that only <=4.1 will have a software...

Homebrew RELEASE Lakka.tv - turn your Switch into a RetroArch powered retrogaming console - includes PSX, N64 and PSP

Does loading lakka via hekate support ext4 formatted SD cards? I'd feel more safe with running linux from a journaled filesystem.

Homebrew Discussion Post homebrew ideas, suggestions, requests here

Some sort of modification to the default lock screen to actually require a password of some sort to unlock. This, while ultimately trivially bypassed, would act as a reasonable deterrent/barrier to less technically minded people trying to commit mischief. I do believe that the parental controls...

Homebrew RELEASE Development Thread - RetroArch libnx

Isn't FAT32 also not a journaled filesystem? Why wouldn't it have the same issues as exfat?

Homebrew [DS(i)/3DS] TWiLight Menu++ - GUI for DS(i) games, and DS(i) Menu replacement

Based upon /threads/dsi-wlan-on-off.157834/ (I can't post links), it appears that keeping wireless communications on only turns on the LED and enables the wireless card, but does not actually do anything intensive until a title directly attempts to use it, unlike the 3DS which connects to wifi...

Homebrew [DS(i)/3DS] TWiLight Menu++ - GUI for DS(i) games, and DS(i) Menu replacement

I had this same issue, but was able to find a workaround. The dsi cfw guide to autobooting dsimenu++ states to make /shared1/TWLCFG1.dat and /shared1/TWLCFG0.dat read only, change them back to read/write, disable autoboot title, edit your settings, then change them back, you can have wireless...

Tutorial GBATemp DSi modding help thread and guide

One last question: does the region of the 3ds and DSi used matter? Thank you so much for you help!

Tutorial GBATemp DSi modding help thread and guide

Will this work even if I do not own the title or if the enctitlekeys.bin is not associated with the game? I have a friend with a jailbroken 3ds so if I got the file from them would that work? Also, if I perform this on 1.4.5, will it brick my device?

Tutorial GBATemp DSi modding help thread and guide

I've followed step 1 and 2 and have successfully mounted the decrypted NAND. However, I do not have any of the DSiWare needed to exploit installed. I also do not have a jailbroken 3ds to obtain the .app file needed to perform the exploit. Is there any way for me to do step 3?
