    Not without transferring the newest build (vpk) to the Vita first and then using Vitashell to install it. I don't know anything about Retropie however. Yep. quite the hassle indeed. Good for emergencies however.

    You only need to install the newest vpk., it automatically overwrites the previous installation and all your settings and saves are kept.

    Just the .pbp file :) No need for folders, just put it into wherever you would've put your bin/cue files. Do rename it into something more recognizable though, Eboot.pbp isn't exactly helpful :3

    Get into the Quick Menu, Controls and change the setting of User 1 Analog to Digital Type to either the Left or Right stick, whichever you prefer.

    PBP files work fine with the PSX emulator and are even recommended thanks to saving a ton of space. All of my 5 current games are in that format they've given me no issue over the past few days. That said, since the latest nightly it's unable to read or write any savefiles and states. Guess...
