    EZ-Flash III (3) Help!

Yeah, your contacts look pretty pristine. Just suggesting a possible solution that has worked for me and that a lot of people never think of. Also it's cheap :-) Oxidation and other filth can be good at hiding sometimes, so it's worth a shot at least.

    EZ-Flash III (3) Help!

Do you have a Pentel Clic Eraser or a Pink Pet eraser? Those are often better than chemicals to clean the contacts of carts. That has often worked for me after contact cleaner has failed.

Nintendo is yet again issuing DMCA notices to Switch emulators on GitHub

No I'm not. Commercial titles for consoles are almost never developed on the target platform, they are developed on PC's and workstations and tested on emulators. When the developers of The Breath of the Wild were working on it, they did not code, compile or test it on a Switch. They used PC's...

Nintendo is yet again issuing DMCA notices to Switch emulators on GitHub

Has 8bit Guy been debunked on this topic? That's where I found out about it, and his speech most certainly talked about the NES mini not the Wii VC. Just the same, if the ROM has that header it was obtained via a piracy tool no matter what platform it runs on in the end (mini,VC,etc). That...

Nintendo is yet again issuing DMCA notices to Switch emulators on GitHub

Yup, a lot of pirated content is being used on emulators. Some of that content can still be purchased and a lot of it cannot. And that is where preservation becomes an argument. Some content is truly "dead" because the developers and publishers no longer exist or have internal copies of that...

Nintendo is yet again issuing DMCA notices to Switch emulators on GitHub

They most certainly are used to develop homebrew and in fact also used to develop commercial titles. One doesn't code on the console they are targeting, they do it on a PC. It's a hell of a lot faster and easier to test one's new code on an emulator on that same PC rather then write/burn it to...

    Misc DS Flashcard History

I am very aware of all the PassMe options that existed. I was researching, buying and using them back then. I was also picking up cheap "legit" carts that had the right kind of saver and capacity because the donor cart was where that particular hack made saves for the games off the DS game ran...

    Misc DS Flashcard History

Incorrect. Taihen and DSBrick could indeed brick your DS w/o the bridge. FlashMe was a direct response to those trojans. FlashMe required the bridge to add recovery code to the DS low level firmware that malicious code couldn't touch w/o that bridge. Taihen and DSBrick can most certainly brick...

    Misc DS Flashcard History

Sorry but, you' re a bit off. The first thing on the DS hacking scene were indeed the PassMe's. They required a donor cart to be slotted in them to bypass the DS's protections. It then redirected the DS to the GBA slot. The pass card was a different thing, but only because it did not require a...

EZ-Flash's new Nintendo DS flashcard Product Images with Information

My guess would be JTAG headers for programming the FPGA... Only I have no idea why they would need two of them (JTAG uses four wires).

Nintendo has taken down the Link's Awakening fan remake

I will give Nintendo this, they do keep repackaging my childhood and trying to resell it to me. What I mean is, at least they aren't issuing DMCA complaints and C&D orders for things they don't or will never sell again. I always thought it was a dick move to go after abandon-ware/rom sites for...

Roe V Wade has been repealed

I don't usually get involved in this sort of thing on GBAtemp. I come here for gaming news and device hacking news/tutorials. I'd really actually prefer it if this conversation was taken elsewhere. I'd like politics to stay out of my hacking/gaming info/forum. That being said, the job of SCOTUS...

Quake 1 gets a silent release on the Nintendo Switch, PS4/5, Xbox One and Series plus PC.

That was in response to me hoping that we could add our own (and to be clear I don't mean created by me/us, just things I/we have in my/our library) TC's, mods, etc. at some point. I think we all know that if you want to drop in your own PAK's it will require the hacking scene to get us there w/...

Quake 1 gets a silent release on the Nintendo Switch, PS4/5, Xbox One and Series plus PC.

Oh, nice. Thanks for the tip. PSO:NG has been taking up way too much too my time lately and I've not been following Switch stuff as much as I probably should (or I would have known that). I'll give that a shot. Thanks, again.

Quake 1 gets a silent release on the Nintendo Switch, PS4/5, Xbox One and Series plus PC.

Oh, I most certainly expected hacking would need to be involved. I just hope it's something that becomes a thing. It would be nice to be able to play some of those old TC's and mods on the go w/ the graphical improvements (higher rez and lighting). Sure we can play it w/ Retro Arch, but this...

Quake 1 gets a silent release on the Nintendo Switch, PS4/5, Xbox One and Series plus PC.

Hmm... I wonder if there will be a way to put your own in there somehow. I still have a Malice total conversion CD floating around somewhere, and something makes me want to show off Quake Rally to my friends on my Switch really bad for no good or sensible reason.

Nintendo Switch 'Mariko' units firmware keys dumped

OK... But they are still Tegra units. My query is about the "non tegra consoles" comment. I admit I'm a little out of date on the subject, but the post I responded to made it sound like Mariko/Lite Switches were running a non-TX1 SOC. AFAIK that doesn't exist, that's what I'm getting at here...

New information reveals details about upcoming Steam release of RetroArch

Dizzy was published by Code Masters and developed by The Oliver Twins... The Bitmap Brothers never had anything to do w/ the series AFAIK. Beyond that, I'm hoping that this is promising news on the retro front... There are so many games being lost to bit rot and various other things. There is...

Hacking Skype or Discord instructor on how to hack switch. Will pay $50 PayPal or bitcoin.

No offense, man, but RTFM. The sx.xecuter site has the information and files you need. You have the physical tools. Read the documentation provided by the people who made them and then follow it. I'm not sure what you mean by asking how to get Win10 to detect the Switch. If you mean so that you...
