Hacking Hardware Picofly - a HWFLY switch modchip

I would get some clear plexiglass or something similar that you can use to simulate putting the shell back on. This way, you can also see the light to see any error codes. I have two guesses: 1) something is being shorted with the case one, but that doesn't short when the case is removed (very...

    PS1/2 HDLBATCH 1.1 Update (100MB/s - 150MB/s PS2 HDD batch installer using HDL DUMP)

HDLBATCH is compatible with uLaunchELF but is not compatible with WinHiip. 1666987155 Did you run as an Administrator? If you open a command line manually and then run it, it should tell you what the error is if there is one. But make sure to open the command line prompt via "Run as...

PS1/2 A way to Batch rename PS2 iso's to just title ID without Game ID?

Just use: https://gbatemp.net/threads/hdlbatch-1-1-update-100mb-s-150mb-s-ps2-hdd-batch-installer-using-hdl-dump.551420/ It doesn't care what the file is named since it grabs the title from a database (text file). Make sure to format the drive using uLaunch on the PS2 first, though.

    Gamecube Bluetooth Controller Board!

You can use just about any Bluetooth controller. I've tested with PS3, PS4, XBox One, Series X/S, and the 8Bitdo NS30 Arcade Stick, and Switch controllers.

Build your own for around $25 (not as feature-rich but has a nice price tag for DIYers):

Hacking Homebrew GCN PicoBoot - GameCube IPL replacement modchip using Raspberry Pi Pico

UPDATE: So in my own case, I started with 30 AWG (wrapping wire) and later tried 28 and 26. None of them seemed to give me any success regardless of how short I made the wires. I finally took apart an ethernet cable (the label on the outside indicated the individual wires inside were 24 AWG)...

Hacking About online play on CFW (Switch)

A super simple solution is to use dark mode for on and light mode for the other. In my case, I have dark mode for CFW. But the safest way is to just check the system software version. CFW would have a modified software version showing.

    PS1/2 HDLBATCH 1.1 Update (100MB/s - 150MB/s PS2 HDD batch installer using HDL DUMP)

Enable the HDD in the settings for OPL (I set it to auto), and then have OPL refresh the games list.

    PS1/2 HDLBATCH 1.1 Update (100MB/s - 150MB/s PS2 HDD batch installer using HDL DUMP)

Late response, but for anyone else running into this issue, every cue file needs a corresponding bin file. The cue file is a simple text file which should contain a reference to the bin file along with other CD info. Chances are, your bin files are not named the same as noted in the cue file.

    PS1/2 HDLBATCH 1.1 Update (100MB/s - 150MB/s PS2 HDD batch installer using HDL DUMP)

Thanks for the modifications. I am a bit hesitant in including this in an official release because users could very well be installing from their digital archive/backup and such an option inadvertently used could cause irreparable harm.

    PS1/2 HDLBATCH 1.1 Update (100MB/s - 150MB/s PS2 HDD batch installer using HDL DUMP)

The installer that you have pictured is not the one I wrote, so I cannot help with that. Your issue with installing FreeHDBoot is that you need to do so using the FreeMCBoot installer program from a USB drive. As for formatting, I would first make an FMCB card, then format the drive using the...

    PS1/2 HDLBATCH 1.1 Update (100MB/s - 150MB/s PS2 HDD batch installer using HDL DUMP)

Just put the new games inside a new folder. Then drop the HDLBATCH files into this new folder as well, and run it like a new installation. It will just add to the existing installation, and skip over any game that has already been installed.

    PS1/2 HDLBATCH 1.1 Update (100MB/s - 150MB/s PS2 HDD batch installer using HDL DUMP)

That is usually an indication that you did not properly format the drive. Do so using uLaunchELF on the PS2 itself. Moreover, if you used Winhiip to format your drive, that is also part of the problem. Winhiip is old, buggy, outdated, and as you have found out quite limited (and also does not...

Hacking CMFileManager PSP - Multi-purpose file manager for the PSP

Just installed this and wanted to say thank you for such a beautiful file manager. Will there be support for more characters in the file manager? I noticed that (R) and TM characters (possibly more) in a file name result in the file name being cropped at that character location -- no idea if...

External HDD self-powered vs USB-only power (no Y-cable)

Just providing an update of my observations. Apparently even USB flash drives do not get sufficient power even with the hidden power-saving mode turned off. While turning the power-saving mode off allowed the copy process to continue (copied near 200GB of data), once the flash drive was near...

External HDD self-powered vs USB-only power (no Y-cable)

So I stumbled upon the following hidden Wii U menu option to turn off power-save mode on the external drive. In the copy/move/delete data settings, move the cursor down to the bottom of the screen. Then press down (on the d-pad) as well as start and select simultaneously and hold all three...

    Hardware Exchanging thermal paste?

Only read through a few posts on the first "page" of this thread... I think people need to think through some of these mods as they do not seem thermodynamically sensible. 1. Keep in mind that thermal pads are NOT as effective as thermal paste in terms of conducting heat. Sometimes the choice...
