"Jack DIY GB" Flash Cart: Thoughts?

Game piracy for systems that aren't produced or supported anymore doesn't bother me. Original developers aren't making money off them anymore, you know? Obviously, new homebrew games and programs like LSDJ are an exception to this, and should be wholly supported. That's not what I mean, though...

"Jack DIY GB" Flash Cart: Thoughts?

Hey everyone, I'm curious - has anyone here tried this thing? http://www.ebay.com/itm/JACK-DIY-GB-flash-cartridge-for-Game-Boy-with-SD-interface-/261801791005?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cf49a4e1d I plan to do some DIY GB Flash Carts, but before I ruin too many perfectly good cartridges...

Hacking R4 Card Problems (Dual Core and Gold Pro)

So a while back I found a seller for a EZ Flash IV, and they also sold R4 cards for pretty cheap. I picked up two, both "2014" (stripe, not star badged), both with "R4iSDHC.com" on the solder mask on the circuit board. At least according to that site (as opposed to the .hk version), that makes...

Hacking Best "Faulty" DS version to Buy for Repair?

Well, the broken one was $15. Sure, figure an extra $10 or so for the replacement case, but that's hardly that bad, IMO, since there was good odds I'd do that anyway, unless whatever I got was pristine, which I'm probably going to spend a whole lot more for. Turns out my initial hunch was right...

Hacking Best "Faulty" DS version to Buy for Repair?

Thanks - yes, I picked a backlight unit up from Zerey quite a while ago. :D I did mine, I'm just not quite as happy with the clarity of the unit as I'd hoped to be which is why I'm looking to go to an upgraded unit, and specifically, the DS Lite. :) I think when I did my mod, actually, it was...

Hacking Best "Faulty" DS version to Buy for Repair?

I plan to eventually get the EZ Flash V, so that's not a problem for me. You're kidding, right? :P The SP is ridiculously uncomfortable to hold. My hands aren't the biggest, mind you, but for reference, I comfortably use a 14" fielder's pattern glove for baseball and softball. As for the...

Hacking Best "Faulty" DS version to Buy for Repair?

I certainly understand the sentiment about the hinges, but I don't think it's what I want. You're right, it is bulkier - too much so in my taste, but also the screens just aren't as clear as the DS Lite, or even better DSi or XL. As far as being broken goes, I'm ok with more work than that, and...

Hacking DS Lite > GBA Conversion Mod Questions

Hey all, So, I'm very curious, why does it seem like everyone who does a DS Lite to "GBA" conversion seem to want to go single panel only, ie, sort of a candybar format vs the clamshell with the closing lid. I can understand the desire to eliminate the second screen, as well as shrink the size...

Hacking Best "Faulty" DS version to Buy for Repair?

Hey everyone, So I'm looking to buy a DS Lite, since it seems like that is the best form factor for still wanting to play GBA games, but I'm open to other options. Right now I have an EZ-Flash IV on my backlit modded GBA, and I love it, but the screen isn't the clearest, and I want things like...

Hardware Buying a GBA Flash Cart in 2013

Cancel your order while you can. Mine went beyond the PayPal dispute time and as soon as it did, Ebluar stopped responding entirely. Up until that point every time I wrote them, they responded in a day or two. Now, nothing. Aliexpress seems to have a few more in stock now, so you could try...

    Hardware GBA Backlight! (AGB-001)

Hey, sorry I didn't respond sooner - yes, adjusting the pot worked for me. FYI in case anyone else needs help, I had to adjust the pot backwards. Be forewarned that this may mess up your system if done improperly. Adjust at around 15 degrees each try.

Precisely. It seems that based on the evidence, all the "supporting" posts are from the people who run the site.

Be warned, it looks like that site is a scammer's paradise. I wouldn't order from them. http://www.scam.com/showthread.php?t=35679

Hardware How do I change a GBA AGB-001 Power LED?

Yes, I'm familiar with them, among others. The prices are a wee bit high, and I can wait if I need to, though. I will check them out when I get home to see if I can't figure out what size they are, and then order them.

Hardware How do I change a GBA AGB-001 Power LED?

You're awesome, thank you so much! :) I had the GBA apart for the backlight mod, but forgot to even look at the LEDs, and yeah, now I'm bored. This is perfect, though. I think I'll go with a blue LED to replace the green and leave red alone since it's sort of universal anyway.

Hardware How do I change a GBA AGB-001 Power LED?

So I did plenty of searching, mostly on Google, and couldn't find anything. I wonder if anyone knows how to replace the power LED on the GBA, and what my options are? I assume it's a dual color SMD LED, but don't have any idea where to get replacements, or anything. Anyone know anything about this?

Same here. That's disappointing. I hear they're trustworthy and will refund you if you want, but it sucks anyway.

    Hacking Treasure Trove

Ok, so, I'm lazy. I have an EZ-Flash IV with my name on it, as soon as ebluar gets it in and ships it. I haven't been too concerned about finding ROMs for it yet, figuring I'll just wait until I get it in. I was also dealing with the screen mod for my AGB-001, so I had my hands full anyway. So...

    Hardware GBA Backlight! (AGB-001)

Hey all, so, I'm another satisfied Zerey customer, picked up the cable and screen from him. But there's one catch, it would seem. The screen is just not nearly as bright as I'd expected it would be, and I followed the instructions from RCG's site (linked below) on which power lead to solder to...
