    Earlier today my friend returned his N3DS in exchange for a new one, it was at a point semi-bricked but we updated to 10.5 and swapped it over for a new one. This is on 9.0.0-20E, when I installed a CFW on my N3DS it was already on 9.2, would it be best to stay on 9.0 or upgrade to 9.2? If 9.0...

    We made the mistake of formatting the unhacked 3DS's SD Card, so I don't think it's installed anymore.

    Yep, we followed the downgrade process properly from 9.8, but along the way it mustn't have installed properly. When it first completed, it wouldn't boot, so we took out the SD card and it booted up. Then nothing would work, so we tried formatting the SD to see if it made a difference, and now...

    It gets stuck on the 3DS loading screen. We don't have the funds to get everything, unfortunately getting a copy of Shovel Knight was a struggle enough as is.

    We just tried booting up Shovel Knight but it doesn't open on the N3DS, does that mean the only realistic option is to update to 10.4?

    We don't have cubicninja the only game with a higher firmware than 9.2 that we have is Shovel Knight.

    Hey, I posted a thread earlier about a half-bricked/soft-bricked N3DS. We have a copy of Shovel Knight (to update to 9.9), as well as an already hacked N3DS on 9.2 - Can someone please run me through some foolproof steps to get everything up and running again, we haven't tried to boot the game...

    So the only option is to either buy a game that will update to 9.9, or buy the games you suggested? Sorry, this is a bit confusing.

    So it seems because we have none of those games, that we just update to 10.4, and wait? or update, and ask to swap it over for a different N3DS and say "This N3DS is completely fine, but the firmware version isn't right, can I swap it over for a different one that might have a different firmware?"

    All we have is the N3DS and the list of games above, if we can't do anything with those are we forced to go into recovery and just update to 10.4 and wait?

    We have no access to the settings app, or the web-broswer, unless there's another way to boot into homebrew?

    Is there anything else to do? Neither of us have that game, and don't exactly have the funds to go out and buy even more after just getting a N3DS, SD card, etc. EDIT: Also the web browser doesn't work either now, so booting into homebrew menu won't work

    At our disposal we have: Pokemon OR Rayman Raving Rabids (Family pack?) Fire Emblem: Awakening Tekken 3D Prime Edition Kirby Triple Deluxe The Lego Movie Are any of these usable?

    Where do we go from here, we don't have any other entrypoints besides browserhax and menuhax. We downgraded via sysupdater in menuhax, the DS rebooted and wouldn't load, so we removed the card, formatted it, put it back in and it booted, however now the settings app won't work. What's the next...
