Hacking System corrupted -full control of Wii but still can't shake it

Yeah, It couldn't have been a full 4.2 - plus, I was already ON 4.2. So in trying to get the Shop channel working last night, I bricked my wii completely. Black screen. BootMii wouldn't recognize any of my backups (either the first one when it was still broken nor the one when I fixed it...

Hacking System corrupted -full control of Wii but still can't shake it

Fixed! DOP-mii solution didn't work either - same hang. Downloaded Wii Backup Disc, did Delete all, which also hung. When I restarted, it still hung, so went into maint mode again. My wii was empty, but that meant I had no homebrew channel. Sigh. I go to BootMii, but it doesn't like my...

Hacking System corrupted -full control of Wii but still can't shake it

I tempted to shake it. Hard. My coworker tried to get Nintendo to fix it a few times - no luck. She just went and bought a new one. I reinstalled the system menu and the IOS70 with mods - no change. I also tried to downgrade the system menu with the multi-mod manager, but no luck their...

Hacking System corrupted -full control of Wii but still can't shake it

I actually tried that, but my 'normal' wii is a later model with a different boot1, so it wouldn't work. (I can't load bootmi to boot2 on mine - only IOS, but I can on this one. Mine is from late 08, this one is was bought on Day 1.) I'm surprised there is not some archive somewhere of NAND...

Hacking System corrupted -full control of Wii but still can't shake it

It's uninstalled now - I was just trying it out, hoping that either moving the system menu would work (in case it was sitting on a patch of bad NAND) or that some of the alternate syswtem menu's had matured enough that I could skip fixing it. No dice wither way, so I removed it. I used the...

Hacking System corrupted -full control of Wii but still can't shake it

You know, I thought that was odd - maybe its cause they have the update and modify steps separate in the guide? I'll go reinstall that one and see what she does-

Hacking System corrupted -full control of Wii but still can't shake it

As part of the softmod guide, I installed IOS70-64-v6687[TB+ES_diV+NAND].wad then IOS70-64-v6687.wad and System Menu-NUS-v481.wad I've done that process a few times, no errors. Is there a different iso70 and system menu I should be using? -rj

Hacking System corrupted -full control of Wii but still can't shake it

I have a problem that is slowly driving me mad. I was given a early wii by a coworker as a gift, since she broke it. She never modded it or anything, but it locked up on the 4.2 update and would restart to the 'system file corrupted' message. I could get into maintenance mode fine, and...
