"I just got banned from eShop and I've never used the online functions in Sun/Moon, I just downloaded Sun/Moon from freeShop yesterday and after uninstalling the games and tickets. However, I can play online, etc. Does anyone know if they are banning for using freeShop?"- MezCla

Given the two possibilities, I think the safest way is to install Moon in your untouched 2DS after release date. If you unbanned your 3DS using your 2DS files it might fuck up both consoles.- MezCla

Me too, I never touched my 3DS in a very long time until ACNL Update. I didn't usually play anything online, and the only times I played was with close friends I can play locally, so no big deal. The thing is that you don't know what you have until you lose it.- MezCla

In my opinion, this is the same case, the only thing different this time is that Pokemon is a huge thing and got more attention than Monster Hunter. This doesn't mean that we will certainly be able to play online in 15 days, but it's more probable.- MezCla
