    I just wouldn't update through ninty, ever... also, using WiiSCU, you might get the upside down homebrew channel thing, if you happen to get that, download IOS61 with NUSD, and pack it as a wad. installing that fixes it.

    That's the brutal, honest truth of the thing. Is your wii still under warranty? I sent mine in, and they sent me a refurbished wii under warranty. takes about a week and a half in the states. it sucks, but at least you'll have a working wii. also, i'm not sure if the savemiifrii works in...

    Coming from a guy that just sent in his bricked wii to nintendo, they don't care. They'll send you a refurbished one, and anything you bought through the shop channel you can redownload for free. no saves, or anything else will be on the new one. I scored though, and got a wii i could install...

    I had a similar brick, and the only thing i was able to do was send it in. luckily my wii was under warranty, and i apparently screwed the pooch so bad that nintendo sent me a refurb. my brick came from downgrading to 3.2 from 4.0, and the disc trying to update to 3.4.

    Talking to them over the phone is the first step, and try not to giggle when you say theres something wrong with your wii(i still can't say that with a straight face). There may be other ways to fix it, but all signs seem to point that way. is your wii still under warranty?

    I had the exact same problem, and i do mean exact, save for mines an NTSC-USA wii. It turns out that downgrading leaves a stub of some ios, (50, i think) and the update skips it thinking it's a newer version. long story short, you're hosed. I just sent mine in to ninty, which they covered...
