Update on the Orico adapter, looks like Broadcom were as lazy as CSR and neither adapter supports BLE under XP which effectively locks out Bluetooth controllers out, a lot of mice as well as they all use BLE now. Keyboards aren't spared. TL;DR, to use modern wireless controllers on XP, grab an...

Hacking Emulation Gaming Is it morally correct to pirate games that cannot be obtained officially from the company that made/published them?

Which is also an issue if you have a legit copy of the game. Definitely remember being unable to play past a certain level despite having a legitimate copy of the game inserted in my DVD drive.

Homebrew Is there anyway to patch NDS ROMs to make them compatible with modern WiFi?

Or just get a good router that can have a hidden SSID and set it up that way? Main SSID will show to every devices while the DS connects to the hidden SSID that's only meant for use with older devices that don't support WPA

Citra 3DS emulator is also shutting down development, GitHub repo taken down

Can we NOT have another wave of identity theft because of a console manufacturer?

Rapoo VT9 Pro because it went on a flash sale yesterday on Amazon. Orico Bluetooth adapter with Broadcom chipset because i'm trying to figure out if its CSR that was too lazy to include Bluetooth BLE support on Windows XP or if Broadcom is also lazy. All of that because Xbox controllers aren't...

Things you recently bought or got

Found games at a thrift store to install on my XP retro gaming rig. However some of them i failed to notice that they require Steam activation and well, the codes are already used. Its a good thing i only paid a dollar for those games but that's on me for not noticing that Steam activation was...

A Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase will air this week

I was actually pleasantly surprised by the Epic Mickey remake but also the Rare games being added to the NES, SNES and N64 apps. But way more by the fact that we're getting a brand new Endless Ocean game?! Me and my sister actually have great memories of the first game back when renting games...

Someone gave me a old HP Slimline S3300f PC. Downgraded it from Vista down to XP and slapped an old GT430 i had laying around. Using it as a retro XP gaming rig, i do want the R7 250 though. Although it uses DDR3 like the GT430, its got 2GB of VRAM vs 1GB on the GT430. Also the Radeon has a 128...

    Constantly need to re-pair remotes

Maybe its saved to the Bluetooth chip? But then wouldn't the console hang on boot or does the Wii U behaves differently to a defective Bluetooth/WiFi chip compared to the Wii?

    Constantly need to re-pair remotes

I'm wondering if those settings are saved to the NAND and with Wii U's NAND having developed issues lately, maybe its trying to save those settings at a spot where your NAND is corrupted and can't be recovered? It could be the CMOS but without the remotes staying paired we can't tell, someone...

Alien Resurrection on PS1 had Secret Backup Loader

I feel like the price makes a lot of sense. Not that i defend it but it is a late PS1 release from 2001. By then, people were thinking more about the PS2, late releases on PS1 always fetch more money due to the limited print run of those games.

Things you recently bought or got

Pretty much waiting on my TMNT: Mutant Mayhem and FNAF Movie pre-orders to arrive later next week. Other than that, waiting on a copy of Hugo on Blu-Ray 3D that i snagged on eBay for 20 bucks which is the best deal i've seen considering everyone tries to flip that movie for like 60-70$ because...

After six delays, Ubisoft's Skull & Bones finally has a release date

Yeah i'm gonna wait for The Game Awards for a real confirmation. My co-workers and boss were invited last year to Ubisoft Montreal's HQ and they were showed this game along with Assassin's Creed. So imagine their disappointment when two weeks later they announced that Skull and Bones was...

Wal-mart to drop physical game discs?

Meh. I'm mixed. When's the last time that a big Xbox exclusive came out and only came out on Xbox? My colleagues at GameStop (Canadian stores are not managed like US stores) even sorta agree. It just feels like Xbox has been phasing out physical media ever since the Series X came out because...

Getting Mario Kart Double Dash Lan mode to work with Devolution -$100 bounty

Hardware Hall Effect sensor joycon sticks on Amazon

Alright so i gotta ask. Are these any good? Both of my Joy-Cons are now drifting which doesn't surprise me as they date back to launch year of the console. I definitely wanna try these joysticks out after trying the 8BitDo hall effect joystick for the N64 controller!
