    1. You do not need to. You can if you want. 2. The 2 DATs are for the R4 Firmware. There is nothing related between the DATs and games.

    Download the latest CHEAT.DAT file and put it into the _system_ folder. Any software (firmware) will be fine, as long as the Game ID matches the ROM ID of your rom.
