Hacking Possible to Disable the Wii's (De)Flicker Filter?

I have played a couple of hours of RE4 now, and am really enjoying the sharper picture (and great motion controls!). But the game uses lots of dithering, which doesn't look that good. I am guessing the (de)flicker filter hides it normally, but without it, the dithering is too much. Would it be...

Hacking Disable dithering via hex editing?

Does anyone know if there is a way to remove dithering from Wii games via either Loaders or some form of hex editing? Since last year it is possible to remove alpha dithering from GC Games in Swiss, but I have not found a way to do this with Wii games. I have been experementing with removing...

Hacking Possible to Disable the Wii's (De)Flicker Filter?

Just by looking at the menu I see a big difference. I actually didn't check in-game, maybe I'll do that as well.

Hacking Possible to Disable the Wii's (De)Flicker Filter?

Thanks, I got it working! I tried patching Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition and the difference was huge. I also tried Super Mario Galaxy, but it made no difference. I guess that Mario Galaxy doesn't use the filter in progressive mode? It would be awesome to start building a database of some sort. I...

Hacking Possible to Disable the Wii's (De)Flicker Filter?

I am also interested in this, how to extract and edit the wbfs. Has there been any updates to wii loaders to turn off the filter directly before loading a game? Is there a difference to how gamecube games do this? Nintendont and Swiss has had this option for gc games for years. Lastly, is...

Hacking SWITCH NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

Ok so I tried doing everything according to the tips but after updating EmuNAND to 8.1.0 I couldn't boot into it. So I deleted the EmuNAND in the SX Boot Menu, but then started getting error messages when I tried doing it all over again. This was using the "hidden partition" option. So then I...

Hacking SWITCH NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

Awesome reply thanks! I have some follow-up questions to these points: 1. Is there a way to use FAT32 as the format so that I can safely use emulators? I am thinking now that SX Installer 2.0 can install XCI files, is it possible to load XCI files on to a USB device, and choose to install them...

Hacking SWITCH NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

Ok thanks for your reply, I guess I will go down the "update-EmuNAND route". Now I just want to make sure that I am doing this correctly, I have watched a few guides on "SX OS Guides" Youtube channel. Are these steps correct? 1. Boot into SX OS menu, choose options, then create EmuNAND as...

Hacking SWITCH NOOB PARADISE - Ask questions here

So I haven't used my Switch for almost a year and I think the firmware is 5.x something and now I want to play some new games but I am not sure what my best choice is. I am using SX OS the regular way, i.e. I have no EMU-NAND. The scene seems to have moved towards EMU-NAND and I haven't been...

Homebrew Discussion [POLL] FAT32 vs. exFAT | issue discussion

Is there a way of moving all homebrew stuff, a.k.a. RetroNX and roms, to the Switch's internal system storage? This way, you could use exFAT for XCI on the microSD, and all the homebrew on internal storage (provided you don't have roms larger than 20-25 GB). Or would this risk corrupting the...

Homebrew RELEASE pFBA: final burn alpha

Does anyone know how to change emulator settings such as apect ratio, toggle billinear filtering on and off etc.? Also, how do I access the difficulty setttings for the games? For example, in Retroarch, you can access "Diagnostic Input" which takes you to the cabinet's configuration screen. Is...

Official hakchi2 - NES Mini very simple pimp tool

Can you give some examples of games that you got working, so I can try them as well? So it seems that some of us are in great need for an "arcade tutorial" of sorts. Any info, links etc would be welcome!

Official hakchi2 - NES Mini very simple pimp tool

Is there an (English) tutorial on how to get fba and cps2 cores working? It's not working for me. I install "fb_alpha_cps2 module", then add a CPS2 game like Marvel vs Capcom, change the "/zip" to "/cps2", add BIOS file in game directory - but the game doesn't start. Also, I have one single...

Official hakchi2 - NES Mini very simple pimp tool

How should I set up hakchi and retroarch to get the fastest Neo Geo emulation possible? Sorry for newb question, but I am new to this. I tried following a Spanish Youtube Guide () but what I don't understand is the process of uninstalling Retroarch and reinstalling it afterwards? And also, what...

If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
