It's crazy cos it can boot both legacy and UEFI live USB devices that I flash Ubuntu on, but it won't for the life of me recognise a Windows USB as bootable. Sadly @Coto I have tried what the author of that page says, no luck. Might come down to buying a blank DVD if I can't sort this out
well, pretty sure your BIOS is UEFI. Also, newest BIOS UEFI enabled devices are locked to a certain OS architecture. For instance I have a shitty tablet PC and I am allowed to install Windows 8/10 x86 only, no matter what x64 OS I try it simply isn't detected. Also UEFI devices are usually recognized and booted through a hotkey F button (such as F9 or f11 or ESC)
You talking about the setup ISO, or a live USB? I had a lot of trouble getting the Win8/Win10 setup USB booting on UEFI only systems, in the end I found Rufus to work if you load the ISO in it, and IIRC I had to set it to UEFI only mode, GPT and FAT32.
