That is sure a strange issue. You're building MassExplosion's fork, right ? (https://github.com/fox8091/CakesForA9LH)
Try building using this: make build/main.bin
And use build/main.bin as an arm9loaderhax.bin payload.

I built it plus the original repo, and testing it with ctrbootmanager first. the official release boots, the latest commit of both doesn't.

I think that the latest commit fixes MPU for A9LH, but not sure. Maybe it broke something else. So, does the original boots on A9LH ?

when there's no config to auto boot, it reaches the menu but freezes.

The original one won't work with arm9loaderhax. You need to use the fork for arm9loaderhax. (preconfigure it before, yeah)

Well, it can work, but it won't show anything on the screen. But I think it won't work because it was adapted for A9LH.

looks like it does work with a9hl. I forgot to enable autoboot but it works if I push the A button, but cool
