And if you want to be able to run Brahma payloads like before:
- give a 9.2 firmware.bin to CakesFW
- select your patches (signpatched, no emunand)
- maybe set autoboot, as you can't see the menu yet, as there are no lcd init
- keep that config, the arm9loaderhax payload that Mass did will keep these patches and run it

ok, I will try this out, thanks

so with this, I would be able to still go into things like Decrypt9 in sysnand?
Mrrraou
Mrrraou
Yup, using any entrypoint of your choice. You can even run reiNAND in signpatched sysNAND. But your firmware.bin has to be 9.2 for this to work. It won't work if you download it from the CDN. Extract it from a 9.2 NATIVE_FIRM. It's the firm.bin in the exefs.

I already found one from a certain site, just wanted to be sure ;p

Should work then. That's just in case you can't find one :p

if this goes how I think it does, I might be able to come up with something...

so I assume I rename Cakes.dat to arm9loaderhax.bin? there's nothing else
Mrrraou
Mrrraou
not really: you have to compile Mass' fork, and remove the first 0x12000 bytes of the Cakes.dat. Then, rename it arm9loaderhax.bin, and it should work without screen init. However, menus are still here! You just can't see them.

I guess I should do this first on another system to get a config file. also, there's no readily available firmware.bin/cetk for 9.0 on New3DS >,>
Mrrraou
Mrrraou
is the cetk for 9.0 really needed ? :/ and yeah, do it first on another system
ihaveahax
ihaveahax
I'm going to compare the cetk for 9.0 and 9.6 from that site, to see what's changed

iirc it's encrypted so you won't see many things
