Nothing stops you from booting from a LiveCD, mount the drive and delete the undesirable files, it would take literal minutes and Windows would not try to prevent you from doing so since you aren't currently attempting to sabotage it while it is running.
Tolerate it for 5 minutes and you are golden.

Been there and done that, sometime it can be fucked to delete files from Windows where the OS would flat out refuse to let you do it lol

VinsCool Interesting... I have never done something like this though, and I am SUPER unknowledged about it. However, given my obsession with technology, I would love to find sources on how I can do this safely. I think I remember modifying an image of tiny11 to not do anything to removing Phone Link functionality and I remember that getting to work, though.

Back in the Windows 98 days, if you deleted IE, it would "regenerate," if you will. The OS would just generate a replacement exe. I vaguely remember putting a dummy in its place, but I don't remember that working either.
I would understand completely if getting rid of Edge took some real effort.

Honestly just not using it should be sufficient, it is not intended to be running in the background nor being automatically started on boot.

I did do what I described to uninstall stuff that just would not want to be uninstalled and would not be deleted from Windows because it would prevent me from doing that, but it would make sense the system had a setup to recover files when it was expecting them somewhere, tbh, nothing wrong about that.

I don't fault Microsoft for doing that, it was hilariously brilliant. My childhood self was impressed. The devs had tremendous foresight, between the browser wars and users trying to delete iexplore in rage/protest.

Making a windows ISO, generating a auto debloater during the startup using: https://schneegans.de/windows/unattend-generator/
and importing it into the ISO using Anyburn then setting up the USB via Rufus
And I know it's good cause I used it 2 times for my own computers, 0 bloat now, and even Linus Tech Tips used it!

@The Real Jdbye There are removal scripts for Edge available, but bear in mind, that whilst in the background you are connecting to Microsoft's servers each time, and at some point Edge will just be re-installed onto your system without your knowledge or consent.
