i'm also noticing that ttyd aesthetically has a lot in common with spm so maybe that's a large part of the reason i'm liking it a lot, is because i'm aware of that now

Maybe I'll try the TTYD remake after I finish Ghost of Tsushima, but...based on how I found the original to be an utter slog to get through (the tedious Peach segments, General White nonsense, the Doopliss chapter), I don't have high expectations for this remake.

Why couldn't they have remade Super instead...that's suuuuch a better game in practically every aspect, compared to TTYD. Visuals, worlds, gameplay, story, characters - Super was a massive improvement over the tedious and lacklustre first two games, IMO, what with cutting out the tedium.

While the remake does have it's own merits, I'll probably stick to the original version just so I can possibly get into the game there. Having the remake if you already have the original doesn't make sense unless there's a whole bunch of content that's not included in the original. If it can be modded into the original, then that would be fire

@AkiraKurusu yeah that's my only issue with it so far... it does literally nothing to help that. cutscenes can't be skipped, text can't be sped up. during the longer speaking segments i honestly just uncap the framerate to prevent myself from getting bored

The reason the 3ds version of bowser's inside story flopped

TTYD is the best paper mario game, the second best is the N64 original

as far as I'm concerned the series died after that

super paper mario was my first and sticker star was the second one i tried so i think my takes on paper mario are the furthest possible from the elitists

I still remember seeing those Pape Mario N64 ads in 2001 and getting super excited, I was really hyped since there was nothing else like super mario rpg at the time. Then TTYD came out and it was such a huge step up - I loved it. Then no other games in the series ever came out again sadly :( super paper mario felt like a totally different game and the series never went back to its roots
