Just mildly annoyed, for just not being fully right and being correct: and then I wanted to joke, as my usual way, to poke you in a friendly way. 😋

Do you like those 3 RPG games so much? I don't like them, because they recall little of Japan and rather reminiscent of western Peanuts. 😒

Not resembling Japan by design: 1 and 2 are a USA parody. The visual appearance isn't my favorite, but I give little to nothing on that (like in reality).

What I like is the unique gameplay, strange humor and the narration, specifically the last, darker chapters of Mother 2 and complete Mother 3.
Kumatora's personality matches my own in many aspects.
Mother 3 is the only game that ever succeeded in making me cry.

Of course they denied it and said it was a coincidence that Mode 7 effects created such a shape.

Never happened to be touched by an RPG game; instead, some old pc visual novels did so: Narcissu, Utawarerumono, Kana imouto, Kazoku Keikaku, Key's Air, Animamundi etc.
KleinesSinchen

Why the ?

Is any of those titles you mentioned free software so I could have a look on it?
Haven't read (played?) many visual novels; would like to look into that a bit; but I'm not too fond of possibly importing 20 year old PC CDs from Japan. That is gonna be too expensive.

" "because they made me dream.
Narcissu is a freeware PC vn, Utawarerumono is a commercial vn/t-rpg fantranslated, Air is fantranslated, Family Project and Kana Little sister are officially localized in english, Animamundi Dark Alchemist (the best of all) is freeware because its company went bankrupt. I recommend them all, especially this one, less moving but more interesting.😉

Searched with my super cheap Windows 10 tablet → Doesn't look good. Didn't find any official, free download links.
One of the search terms sent me into the direction "Steam" (which I treat equivalent to toxic waste).

My abilities are severely limited without my keyboard, so I'll try again tomorrow.

A little audio play now and then the lights will go out.

This is absolutely freeware by the explicit will of its author:

Warning: strongly poignant and tear-jerking content.
Good night. Sweet Dreams.😉

Thanks. Downloaded.
Away from keyboard until afternoon.

Also, in order to conserve on bandwidth, this
Web Edition has lower-quality sounds and graphics
than the Retail Edition. Otherwise, all contents
are the same.
What on Earth were they thinking? If the sound is mixed down to 22050Hz sampling rate or worse, it is gonna cause physical pain.

What's the big deal? Just convert the music tracks by improving the quality, obviously not by changing their names.

Are you joking again? You must be joking. Please tell me this was yet another joke I'm too stupid to understand!
Nikokaro
Nikokaro
Why, can't you convert them to 44100hz files? In any case, they are still better than the bgms of your nes Earthbound.
My goodness, how fussy you are! Forget it, don't read it and don't listen to them, you'd be too sick. 😣

 This was NOT a joke??

That "😡" is anything but justified. You told me "I'm a joker, a prankster" Mentioning this brings me an angry reaction.
How many "😡" am I going to get for stating the obvious now?

Lossy compression is lossy, because something is lost forever. If there was a possibility to restore data gone missing in that process there wouldn't be loss of quality in the first place and small files would suffice for everywhere.
You can't upscale a DVD to 4K UHD and expect it to actually look like a 4K Blu-Ray.

You'd be surprised by the audio capabilities of the SNES. It can handle full CD quality audio with MSU-1.

There was a practical limit with technical reason: The very tight cartridge space. They resorted to MIDI-like music, but SNES generally sounds good.
Mother 3 on the other hand... 6 hours of awesome music -- ruined by the inferior sound system.

Come on, I gave you some likes even though you didn't deserve them because you belittled me. In any case I was explicitly referring to the nes and Mother, not SNES.

Misunderstood this part

because Earthbound Zero is the NES game.
===

Belittle? Don't deserve the likes? Is this a joke now?
I'm really desperate and have no idea what you are actually thinking. What do I have to do to reconcile you? Hitting myself with a frying pan on the head?

In any case there is no turning back. I will start this visual novel!

"What do I have to do to reconcile you? "

Nothing. It's just silliness! I have already forgotten everything. 😉 As you know about computing (and format conversion) I don't understand anything. But to me those bgms did not seem so bad to listen to; it may be that I am not a connoisseur.😔
Edit: Before you ask, my "🤣" reaction is for the frying pan on the head.

My favorite Narcissu tracks are "The World is coming to an End" and "Silver Coupe": when I listen to them I still get emotional. 😔
