What a convenient coincidence. \s
You're getting ripped off and spied on all at once.
How much do you pay per month?

I've got two connections after much thought, the first is their "unlimited" package which only allows 25GB daily, that's about $47. The second connection is a regular one that's volume based, 205GB total (85GB at normal hours, 120GB after midnight till 8am), that's about $15.

So altogether $62 for a mixed bag. I used to spend the same with one connection that's 300GB (150/150 peak off peak) but the 25GB daily thing made sense for regular browsing.

This whole Netflix thing is really scummy though, given the right parties they would be in serious trouble, I would do something if I could but I have no idea who to tell this to.

The whole ISP situation is a mess here. A year or two ago the telecommunications regulatory commission made a law kind of thing where all ISPs are supposed to provide unlimited internet packages. A year after when the ISPs did do so, they did it in a sly way; all the unlimited packages are from half the regular speeds and below, while most of them are like the

"25GB daily" thing, which all don't spell unlimited at all. All the ISPs did this together, they all have the same kind of packages, give or take a few bucks.

I have "only" 50/50 Mbps but that's enough for our use (peak being streaming 6 different items of HD content to 6 different screens), but it's unlimited. There are better offers available too but I'm too lazy to go through the paperwork to switch providers :ha:

But yeah, "unlimited" with a daily limit is not unlimited at all, that's a total scam. Is there no consumer protection agency to sue them?

That sounds awesome. I just checked for one and the main one seems to be something called the Ministry of Consumer Affairs Authority, but it's government owned. The main ISP in the country, which is also what I use, is also government owned, so I'm not sure how that would go.

Despite that they may still look into it seriously depending how it's set up, I'm just right now confused as to how I have not heard any cases against them yet. So it sounds futile to try. 🤔

I just realized I said 50 GIGAbits per second, which is ridiculous. I have 50 Mbps. Megs of bits. But, again, that's enough for what we need.

Haha yeah I was wondering about that. My ISP does provide that option (by half I mean their Fibre connections go as 100Mbps, but half of it would be 50Mbps), how much do you pay for it? The one they provide is $120.

We have fiber to the home, unlimited data plus basic cable TV package plus HBO Max, $40. We could get 150 Mbps for that price or upgrade to gigabit speeds but we're fine for now.

Shit's worse now, I was using a currency rate just over a month ago, the price is still the same in our local currency, but due to the current situation here, that $120 is basically equivalent to $190 now. Last month a dollar was 203 rupees, now it's at 330 and climbing.

In any case thanks for sharing, you have solidified my decision to come to America soon. :P

Uhh... yeah. Sorry. :P

Croatia must be nice, I'm still set on America though. I don't mind if the price is probably higher there, as long as it's unlimited and more affordable than here haha. (after all, internet is just one driving factor)

America probably has more opportunities and definitely a better life standard (if you can get a job... and afford their healthcare).
