Digital games cannot themselves degrade (though the storage medium and hardware can...) but they can expire or be revoked without warning, or online servers shut down thereby erasing online-only games from the world.
Physical games don't have the expiration or revocation issues, but they can degrade (e.g. disc rot) or be damaged (scratched or shattered discs, broken cartridges, cartridge connectors becoming unreadable, etc.).
Which is ultimately better for preservation?
Not to mention that a lot of devices don't even have disc readers anymore, and cartridges are pretty much Nintendo-exclusive; the PS5 even has a discless model. Also, some games are digital-only, too. Two more points against physical preservation...
hi guys, i installed some games using the WUP installer and in the settings the drive shows the games, but they are not visible on the Wii U menu. Can someone help? Thanks
