I think it's a good thing because you'll naturally only use slow Pokemon like Bronzong in harder battles when you actually need them. This stops slow Pokemon from getting underleveled and drop off. The real problem is that the difficulty level before the Elite 4 is extremely low.

It's not a good thing, as it makes focusing on a single Pokemon much more of a hassle than previously - you have to box everything else, which means you can't use them in battles. The 3DS games had the EXP. Share toggle that allowed people to choose, but forcing this system on us by removing the toggle?

Like, I'm playing through Let's Go Eevee now, and I can only really have a party of three Pokemon because otherwise I'll never get to use my Eevee.
I'm levelling up my Eevee, and out of nowhere my Clefairy levels up. Then when I'm done levelling up Eevee, I use Clefairy, only to see Eevee continue to level up - and when levelling up my Primeape, BOTH my Clefairy and Eevee gain levels.

This means I can't use Eevee, and Clefairy, as much as I wanted to, and COULD in games on older consoles. It's just inherently frustrating, as I originally planned to include a Krabby -> Kingler on my team, but can't because of this stupid party-wide EXP system - if I did, I'd get to use Eevee and Clefairy even less often.

Just pisses me off, as I like to spend roughly equal time training each party member, instead of them being auto-trained. UGH.
This isn't Xenoblade or Final Fantasy, where reserve members kinda need to be at the same levels as those currently fighting since it's not 1v1 and party composition is more fluid than in Pokemon.
