I was installing a picofly chip on my Switch OLED and the CMD (A point) resistor and the capacitor beside it came off. The pads of the resistor are off.
What I’ve done:
Still the same eMMC error. Questions:
The resistor is in the blue circle and i highlited the wires with red.
What I’ve done:
- Cleaned the area and checked the points with a multimeter in diode mode (battery out). CLK and DAT0 read .450 each. The resistor pads read .450 and .250 before I touched them. The capacitor pads read 0 and .450 (one side to ground).
- Scraped a long strip of solder mask off a trace by mistake (this was all done by stupid gemini instructions)
- I couldn’t place a 0201 without a hot air station, so I soldered 0.1 mm wires from the two resistor pads to a loose 0603 4.7k resistor (measured ~4.7k), taped down on kapton.
Still the same eMMC error. Questions:
- Is a wire-mounted resistor stub OK on the CMD line, or does it need to sit directly on the pads?
- What’s the value and rating of the capacitor next to the A-point resistor, and could its absence cause this?
- Is there anything else I should check (CLK, DAT0, the trace I scraped)?
- To what excact traces do i need to solder the resistor
The resistor is in the blue circle and i highlited the wires with red.
