here's a work in progress decompilation / port of OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast,
it's being ported to PS5, MacOS (arm) and Switch, Xbox (unstested)
It's still not 100% decompiled / ported so there will be bugs, from my testing so farOutRun 2 SP runs can remain stuck at the end of the game,
Some menus are incorrect, and some options do not work yet, but most of the game is already playable and enjoyable
Once the decompilation / port is complete and the remaining issues are fixed, enhancements from at least https://github.com/emoose/OutRun2006Tweaks will be added.
The PS5 port has only been tested on a PS5 Pro running firmware 13.60, so please let me know if you encounter any issues on a standard PS5.
I have also only tested the game using a manual FTP installation.
The PKG version is currently untested.
To get it working:
On your PS5, load the following payloads:
/data/homebrew/
so that you end up with:
/data/homebrew/PPSA99106
Then create:
/data/homebrew/PPSA99106/assets/game
Copy the Steam version of OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast into:
/data/homebrew/PPSA99106/assets/game
The Steam version contains a small ~1 MB OR2006C2C.EXE file.
Our build extracts the required content from this file, so we do not need to redistribute licensed game data.
Once everything has been uploaded, ShadowMount should add the game to the PS5 menu.
Launch it normally. On the first run, a message will appear indicating whether the extraction was successful or if an error occurred.
On PS5 Pro, you can enable 120FPS in the settings.
This mode has not yet been tested on a standard PS5, so please let me know if you experience any performance issues.
