So a few weeks ago I gave up nicotine, which was easy. You just feel like shit for a few days. I have quit probably five times before, and it's harder the longer it's been going on (this last time, that I'm gonna make the last time, I hadn't been doing it for more than three weeks, still felt down, angry, all those good feelings).

After that I thought the only drug I regularly use is caffeine. So I quit that too, I had headaches which I anticipated... Did not know it would make me lethargic and unmotivated for days though. What a terrible drug, one of the worst IMO.

I'm pro drugs, I think they should all be legal, sold at pharmacies and that taxed drug money should go to schools and healthcare, instead of you know giving the greatest gift ever to criminal gangs/cartels.

I do drink alcohol on occasion, which is a drug of course, responsible for a lot of the bad things in society, like A LOT, I also enjoy smoking weed and my favorite drug in the world is amphetamine. I seldom drink, don't smoke at the moment and I can't buy amphetamine at the moment... So that's why I'm on this high horse, looking down at you for doing all those drugs like caffeine while I'm living a straight edge-life, with the occasional drink. 🤪
nah bud marijuana nearly ruined my life. only got high one time. now I'm on meds life long due to its side effects.

I smoke marijuana and eat edibles of it. I rarely drink alcohol except on occasion like my birthday, xmas, new years or on some random days throughout the year. I'm prescribed oxycodone for jaw pain but enjoy the highs it gives off beats being in pain though. Also addicted to nicotine im 41 and started smoking when I was 17.. smoked 3-4 packs of smokes a day since i was 17 but looking to quit now once i get reconstructive jaw surgery

Best way to live and stay drug free is observation and intelligence and view "lots of things as a trap". so, for one I stayed drug free all my life except excluding drugs prescribed by the doctor. however when I was 16 I made intriguing observations most observations came mainly from movies like gang movies that involved "drug use". however, i know most people will be quick to disregard everything in movies because they will say its all just a movie. but in some cases i dont think so especially in movies that involve crime that are based on real events or actions that impact real people. so, what i observed is that "drug use" makes people stupid and so does alcohol when abused. I also watched at that age how people act when over dosed by alcohol and how it makes them stupid. you could say stupid is too harsh. but thats merely a "descriptor" for how they behave when they are under the influence of something they lack resistance too and they become mentally vulnerable. to substitute that lengthy description i say it makes them stupid. and I thought to myself. well, i dont wanna be stupid. so, when I was 16 i made vow that alcohol, drugs cigarettes will stay far away from my lips. and it has ever since. part of this and keeping to this also requires having a strong mind and being passionate about staying devoted to such a vow as well as a good memory to be able to remember that you made this vow so long ago.

I only have two addictions in life thats coffee and video games. both are healthier addictions to the traps that people fall into. oh and how do you decide what is a trap? well. a lot of people think oh it can never happen to me or I only want to try it just once. those two phrases are the traps.

You are on a high horse alright, a highly regarded one. Coffee with caffeine is insanely good for you so long as you drink 4 cups a day or more. I love the bragging for doing something actively harming you.

I think it does have some benefits (insanely good might be hyperbole though?), I also think the most positive studies have been financed by people wanting a certain result. You can find both kinds of studies if you are not just looking to support whatever you already believe.

I think it's riskier the younger you are when you first try it. That's very unfortunate for you, most people are alright, but it's an unknown beforehand.

I wonder if any type of mental illness has risen in places where it is legal. People who are against it could use that so easily to support their point of view.

That makes no sense, how do you drug your free game? 🤪

When you are younger, yes. However, in regards to causing mental illness there seems to be studies associating it with mental illness while other studies show it isn't. From what I have researched it can cause mental illness but that risk isnt likely unless you have it at a younger age. I tried marijuana when I was in college never had a problem with that but that was when I was 21 now I'm 41 stayed on it when it was made legal never once had a problem doing it at a later age.

I had a kind of fucked up life growing up, so when I was 12 I started drinking and smoking cigarettes. Thankfully, I also saw many guys using drugs in that circle that I was part of, so, thanks to those guys and how bad they were having it, I lost total interest in drugs. I drank and smoked for about 2 years, then started dropping it. Every time a bit less, and less.

It's been around 10 years that I drink only on special occasions, like a birthday, or a reunion with friends, new year and stuff like that. When I drink, I like to smoke some cigarettes. So, all that experience since I was a lost child, was good in the end because I never used drugs in my life, I can control when and how many alcohol / cigarettes I want to drink, and it's seldom, every 3, 4 weeks, sometimes more than a month in between.

On the other side, I have insomnia since I was a kid, too, unfortunately, so I use almost daily melatonin. Don't know if that could count as a drug. Also, I always have a box of clonazepam, for those hard days when your mind just wants to fuck you up, I take half or one pill, depending how depressed I am. So you could say that is the only drug that I take every now and then.

But I think I'm doing good, I could have been an addict and an alcoholic due to the life I had, but I decided not to, and just have those things that I mentioned when I want to. I think it's not too bad.

I hope everyone can have a drug-free life. I know it's hard, but it can be achieved.

I've never used drugs or smoked anything. Even no coffee or energy drink.

I don't drink alcohol either, because it can trigger migraine attacks. And there's no point in drinking alone at home, whereas if I go anywhere else I always go by car, so it's not wise either.

You are either an elite troll or A-list moron.

Those really are the only two possibilities.

Only tried weed when hanging out with some people from work a few times with minimal to no interest afterward. I do enjoy drinking quite a bit, just the hard stuff since beer just takes like piss, and forces you to drink way more of it to get the same experience. I would say it hasn't really affected my life negatively which I'm thankful for, although the one time I was caught coming home inebriated, I would give up a lot of things if I could change that night. Plenty of things in life to regret, but making the person or people you love, realizing what you let yourself turn into hurts to see on their faces.

Edit - forgot about caffeine, yeah it's alright, I drink soda for the taste with food, not for the caffeine

I've never somked a cigarette nor take a drug. From time to time I used to drink one beer in the past just to relax, but it's not my prefer of choice. I rather good cup of hot cocoa. Last year i even didn't drink a beer in half year peroid to do something extra, now I don't even look for it, sometimes happen for sake of company. I feel sorry that people can't release from those stimulants and it feels kinda unnatural that is not possible, i guess they just don't want to drop it or there is different source of this trap.

Well, that only leaves the moron possibility. I'm not joking. You think prohibition worked well when Al Capone was around? Nobody is shooting anyone over a barrel of liquor anymore... Same thing would happen if all other drugs were legal, most drugs are dangerous because they are illegal. I know it's not a popular opinion, and it's also not easily solved, I for one don't know exactly how you solve party drugs (amphetamine, cocaine, MDMA) in a safe way. It would probably sort itself out though, got a pre-existing heart disease... Should've checked it sooner. Now you know. 😃

I hear ya. I to believe that drugs should be legalized so as long as its not crack or acid anything chemical based that causes brain damage.. I think our government in the US is killing our own people. They treat this like its a huge epidemic. In answer to ODing off of opiate based pain killers is pretty simple. The government already has clinics for safe injections, clean needles, etc. They should make this legal in every state and area then people wouldn't be going out ODing on fentanyl which doesnt give you a great high if I might add. The heroin should cut nicely and not contain aggressive level chemicals of animal tranquilizers which is corrossive and will cause parts of your body to erode away. If you google it, you'll see some nasty effects of the drug. If you can legalize it and make it as safe as possible then its a system that works. Prohibition has never worked in the past why would it now?

Absolutely, heroin is probably the most beneficial drug to legalize... It's way more dangerous when you don't know how pure it is and would be safer and better for everyone if people addicted could just go and get a fix instead of turning tricks or robbing people/stores... The people who are most vehemently against drugs being legalized are dealers who know their market would get killed... Second is the people who really took to heart when the Ninja Turtles and Ronald Reagan told them drugs are bad.

Even when police do a big drug bust and act all proud... All they've done is inconvenienced people and drove the price up for a while... People have been doing drugs thousands of years before society came with it's bullshit rules, it will never stop, thinking something else is naive. Today's rules just empowers criminals, it's rather sad to see, and to see how ineffective it is to try to stop it with harder sentences.

Correct all the way through! Just wondering what your thoughts about legalizing cocaine. A log long time ago when coca cola first came out there was cocaine in there as an ingredient.

Well it technically was developed by a doctor to help people. Half of doctors smoked in office during the 40s and 70s.

After PSP, DS and the Wii/360 scene excitement died down.. my attention personally went straight to drugs (pre-darknet and crypto). There's so many elements to it, so many effects across society. I think its important to remember at its most basic, avoiding the reputation of 'DRUGS' the products at their most basic are agricultural products.

Khat, coca leaf, Ephedra, papier somniferum (opium poppy). Many routes and chemical processes can be done but at their core there's clearly an argument to be had that these are grown for the people to use. Especially in the modern global world - having restrictions on all stimulants while other groups/countries have exceptions for 'religion' or whatever they decide they believe at the time. Just think, in a 24/7 global competitive technology world. every time you fall asleep, someone in another timezone is getting ahead of you by simply ignoring the rules (especially when it comes to technology - new century people have no problems lying and consuming whatever in order to get ahead - then they are happy to poison you with nicotine and alcohol to keep you docile and non-competitive).

Just worth thinking about.. for example in Bolivia you can buy coca tea bags, and have a proper morning wake up - really get some work done! Ignore the exaggerated and ridiculous stereotypes connecting to the criminals and connections to the drug networks. Focus on what things can do for you. Anti-anxiety and ADHD medication in particularly completely changes peoples lives, especially among the nerd/geek communities as we all know! But the other drugs have uses too, they just need proper controlled formulations and to get out of the control of 'Big Pharma' which controls licenses on all the most useful drugs (particularly Pfizer in control of drugs like Xanax, like they don't already have a bad enough reputation.. not long ago there was bulk kilos of Pfizer made Xanax powder out distributed in the street!)

Just think, in a future global world, maybe in 50 years time coming up to 2100, formulations of stimulations and anxiety drugs might well be properly normalized and used to cope with the mass population increases. I would love to see a youth get behind working on normalizing new formulations outside of BIg Pharma and taking back control over big tech over the scammers and bullshitters that have flooded the whole field since mass crypto uptake in around 2013. It's going to be due a reckoning and i know there's going to be so many talented youth tech people who need to join up and use whatever means needed to get honesty and control back into the field so things can actually move on rather than just everything being pyramid schemes and rushed AI junk from offices full of unqualified people.

The reason why i believe we need new chemicals to work is because its going to be a hell of a fight when there's finally a pushback on the giant amount of 'makework' and people will need to have methods to stay woke and alert. Because the power of large groups of 9-5 people who just try and bore you to death with fake work whenever they feel threatened is still going to keep happening.

Hope you understand what i'm getting at with this guys :)

Long live the tech culture and creative minds, don't trust ANYONE! :D
