Not my point. I'm comparing the two because of the massive difference in price for what is essentially just a show piece, from the standpoint of a modder (I mean, this is GBAtemp after all).

Likewise, I'm sure that most people buying Lego Game Boy wouldn't stand a chance at modding a Game Boy, and I'm not denying that there's a market for it, but outside of die-hard fans who already have an Xbox anyway, I don't see a point.

It's clear this was initiated by Microsoft, considering the sea of other Xbox-themed merch across many industries lately, and instead of bringing something functional, they chose this... I can't deny it's cool, but it costs more than something functional. Maybe there's more to come?

My point is that we're talking different markets, people may want the 'fun' of assembling this and then just putting on a shelf, similar to people with statues and other tat on shelves.

I'm also probably a bit numb to the price of these now, considering how many Lego sets we sell at my retail job....which people actually buy.

For the record, no, I wouldn't consider buying one, in fact I spent the afternoon working on a custom mod for one of my OG Xbox's name badge. But that's just me.

WOW, what?! This is more like it! It actually replicates the components inside of it, and it's much better priced!

It's also great to see that it has no deadly clips and doesn't have to open "like a suitcase" (quoting Modded Warfare), I don't envy those opening up an original unit for the first time

I've got an ACTUAL OG Xbox, with a couple original controllers, in fantastic original condition. Hasn't even been booted up for over 15 years. And a nice batch of real games to go with it too. A much better use of your money, cuz this one actually plays games.

A collector's dream. $379 + shipping. Not only is it cheaper, I won't even charge you tax. Any takers?

Unless you've done so, I would suggest checking the capacitors as the console is infamous for them leaking, especially the clock cap on 1.0-1.5 revisions.

Even the 'safe' 1.6 revision can suffer from them, such as the 'Tuscany' PSU inside one of mine.
