Sony announces shutdown of the PlayStation Store for the PS3 and Vita

The end has come for the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation Vita. After supporting the PSN Store on the PS3 and PS Vita since 2006 and 2011 respectively, Sony has announced that they plan to shut down digital purchases soon. This August, both systems will lose access to the PS Store in Mexico, Honduras, and Nicaragua. By the end of the year, support for the Middle East and Latin America will follow suit. All other regions will see the PS Store shut down in July 2027, ending the ability to purchase new games digitally on either platform. Games already purchased prior to the shutdown dates on either system will still be able to be re-downloaded, at the very least, for the foreseeable future.

Luckily these consoles libraries have all been preserved by pirates. I worry about what will happen when a digital only consoles shop is turned off. Preservation for those console will be impossible unless we get Hacks

Minimal complaint, they literally developed programs you can search titles for and download pkgs.
Not sure what you mean exactly but for example I have a JP title that has undocumented DLC that isnt even visible in the playstation store and must be unlocked in the game before purchase is possible.

If it is undocumented you could probably dump it with a cfw ps3 to get it unlocked.
Yes I'm doing that (have to play the entire game) but makes you concerned how many games are like this. Sadly DLC you had to unlock the ability to buy was rather common in this era.

Still there are probably modders out there experienced enough where you probably don't even have to beat it they could just make it activate with code software. Ofc temp won't host any games so obviously not the place to ask.
