Apple have today announced price increases, primarily focused on their MacBook and iPad lines. These increases have already come into effect, with both prices and the products hit varying from region to region.

You can find a summary of increases for the US below:
  • MacBook Neo (256GB): $599 ➜ $699 (16% Increase)
  • MacBook Air (512GB): $1099 ➜ $1299 (18% Increase)
  • MacBook Pro (1TB): $1699 ➜ $1999 (17% Increase)
  • iPad Air (11 Inch 128GB): $599 ➜ $749 (25% Increase)
  • iPad Pro (11 Inch 256GB): $999 ➜ $1199 (20% Increase)
  • HomePod: $299 ➜ $349 (16% Increase)
  • HomePod Mini: $99 ➜ $129 (30% Increase)
  • Apple TV: $129 ➜ $199 (54% Increase)
Most notable in these increases is the widely-regardedMacBook Neo, having previously been praised for its capabilities at such a reasonable price point. After a $100 increase, we may see more fierce competition from other manufacturers.

just another reason to dislike AI. not only is it hurting the job market but its also causing chaos in prices so that people have to pay more.

I am glad a bought a bunch of HD's and other tech stuff I didn't necessarily need a couple years ago. If I didn't have a backlog of equipment I would be really upset with the current economy. Right now I am just not buying waiting anything tech related.

Alas, even Apple is being "greedy" now. 🤣

You'd think a company that has always kept at least a 53% margin on its vastly overrated and vastly overpriced gear could keep prices (too high) for a while.
