I Agree 100% I tried to get this happening but no one with the skills have stepped up to do it, I would love to see this on WiiU but I haven't got the ability :/

There were some tests a few years ago on Tiramisu but they were never finished. It would probably be easier on Aroma because of the way WUHB is setup like you say, but things would need to be added to the WiiU's Retroarch source too I think to load a game on Core boot automatically. My advice ask around the WiiU Discords perhaps someone will take it on.

At the end of the day 3DS has had the ability to use Retroach forwarders for years so it more than possible on WiiU. :)
Ah, so it isn't as simple as compiling a wuhb to pass arguments then is it

Is it normal for the RetroArch Aroma port to crash and freeze a lot when first opening or switching games? It seems like a coin flip whether it will freeze my system or not... not sure if there's something wrong with my install or what. Everything else seems to work fine.

I'm using the latest build from Edit 4 (12/05/26) for Aroma.

Do you have custom background images and boxart/thumbnails enabled? I found that mine froze a lot when I'd move my selection across systems/games too quickly. The workaround for me was to decrease image resolution and navigate the menu slower.

No, I only have a text-based list. It typically doesn't crash when navigating the menus, it's always either loading a game or entering/exiting RetroArch. I've just installed Tiramisu and will try that version for comparison, I guess. I have a feeling it's just the Aroma build is really buggy. I also noticed in some cores like FBNeo, in vertical arcade games the RetroArch navigation menu squares that show what option you have selected don't align properly with the menu items. They're inverted 90 degrees into a vertical orientation.
