Problem solved. I just downloaded another file, this time the XCI instead of the NSP. That one now works fine including the update.

I have the exact same crash at the same place after Zelda leaves the screen with the guards. Also tried reinstalling etc.
Really curious about a solution as well.

Everything was updated today before it loaded at all:
  • Atmosphere 1.7.1
  • Firmware 18.1.0
  • Sig patches
  • Sys patches
  • Injecting hekate

Tried installing with Tinfoil and DBI (both times to SD card from USB stick), always the same result with crash after the intro.

I am installing an nsp file, have not tried downloading another release.

Other titles seem to run fine, but haven't really played anything, just started a few.
I updated to the latest DBI. My config is the same.
Problem seems to be solved and I am enjoying the game!

I specifically made an account to comment on this because I was experiencing the same issue and I feel so much relief right now. When I first installed this game using the MTP responder, there was a message saying "missing hash" just as it finished installing.

All I did was first update DBI to 658. Then I downloaded the XCI instead of the NSP. This time there was no "missing hash" message. It completed and now it no longer crashes after the intro cutscene (when Zelda speaks to the soldiers). I do not know whether updating DBI or installing the XCI or both fixed this issue, I just know that updating DBI and installing the XCI is a working solution. I did not install the update for the game because I didn't want to FAFO.

Mine also crashes on the same situation, but I'm on PC, using Ryujinx.

I tried updating DBI first and no luck. I downloaded a different NSP and now I'm past the cut scene. Seems like the first NSP I tried was bad.

I had this exact same issue and the solution that worked for me was that I used an XCI file instead of the NSP. I tested with and without the game update and both worked. Before installing, I updated everything including DBI, system firmware, atmosphere, etc. I also used DBI and the FPT option to install (since my sd card exfat format doesn't allow for over 4GB). Best of luck to anyone who has this issue.

You really should use Fat32 format instead.

I had this same issue, and didn't have a new DBI. When I looked up DBI I saw that it seems unsafe now. I used the xci base game and the latest 1.0.2 update, files are
The Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom [01008CF01BAAC800][v131072][USA][Update].nsp for the update,
The Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom [01008CF01BAAC000][EUR][v0][Proper].xci for the base game
and awoo installer + ns-usbuploader.
base game and roms were from ziperto.
This works fine and gets past the crash. I hope this helps someone else.

so after reading everyones experience on a older atmosphere and hekate i am here to tell you echos of wisdom on 20.0.1 it still crashes right after the guards come and take zelda away so has anyone actually found the issue? is the hardware just to weak on the v1 switch?
