Is there any way to connect my Gamecube controller to a vWii game launched through USB loader GX? I own an official GC controller adapter and this setup works perfectly fine with Nintendont (aka GC games) but not with Wii titles.

Compatibility is infamously inconsistent, some games only support the GameCube controller:You can also get an adapter that plugs it into a Wiimote and this will be compatible with more games than GC controllers are.

You can also get an adapter that plugs it into a Wiimote and this will be compatible with more games than GC controllers normally are.
There are also Classic Controller patches for many games that don't normally support it.Compatibility is infamously inconsistent, some games only support the GameCube controller:

Know that front USB ports don't work on vWii too. Thanks
Will try out
Yeah. so my setup is GCN games injected with UWUVCI and the Gamepad patch, right. So I'm hoping I can connect another controller to play them that way, using the GC NSO controller. There are also Classic Controller patches for many games that don't normally support it.

I just realized you guys aren't talking about what I'm asking about. We're talking about the NSO Gamecube Controller. The Wireless one for Switch 2. I'm asking if there's any way to connect that one to Wii U, through, and then also maybe use it with Gamecube roms?Know that front USB ports don't work on vWii too.
Except on Nintendont.

Yeah, that deserves a different thread. It's only you talking about the NSO controller...I just realized you guys aren't talking about what I'm asking about. We're talking about the NSO Gamecube Controller.
Not really the thread for that but I don't think anybody has gotten Switch 2 controllers working on anything other than the Switch 2, at least in wireless mode. They really locked them down. And I don't quite get why. They should be happy people are buying their controllers lol. Why make it intentionally difficult to get more value out of your purchase and maybe give people more reasons to buy them.Yeah. so my setup is GCN games injected with UWUVCI and the Gamepad patch, right. Honestly I'm just doing this because I noticed there's no rumble when you emulate Classic Controller through gamepad. I need to play Shadow the Hedgehog with a Gamecube controller and rumble on my Wii U lol.
You guys mention Wii compatibility, but will this work with Gamecube through Nintendont? Do I need to just launch a regular GC Rom through Nintendont instead of doing it through a Classic Controller modded inject?

If I have to plug it in with USB that's fine. But I'm not talking about regular GCN controllers or the USB-To-Wii adapater stuff. I'm talking about the official Gamecube wireless controller for Nintendo Switch Online, and using that on Wii U and hopefully Nintendont.

i used that Forwarder + Gamepad setup before but wanted something more authentic, so I got an original Gamecube controller AND the gamecube port smash adapter for SWITCH 1 and connected it to my Wii U's usb ports.
It works perfectly fine! I got rumble and the original mapping without having to do any tinkering. All you gotta do to use the GCN controller is select "TV only" when opening up one of those Nintendont UWUVCII forwarders, instead of the gamepad option. Also means you can use the Gamepad whenever you feel like just by pressing the other button.
Also another mod i installed was the 8bitdo GCN controller modkit (which replaces the innards of the GCN controller to add bluetooth connectivity) and also bought 8bitdo's GCN receiver, to act as the other end of the cable. This is plugged into the smash adapter, so now I got a *wireless original GCN controller* playing Nintendont on my Wii U with rumble, too. Cool right?
Only cons are:
- Multiplayer: Sadly, you can't play 2 player mode like this with one player on the Gamepad and the other on a GCN controller. Gotta plug in more GCN controllers on the smash adapter.
- Cost: Cost was about 30USD for the modkit, 20USD for the receiver, and about 25 USD for the old GCN controller, so total is about 75USD
Hope this helps. Might cost a bit but I consider it totally worth it.
Hiya!Is there any way to connect my Gamecube controller to a vWii game launched through USB loader GX? I own an official GC controller adapter and this setup works perfectly fine with Nintendont (aka GC games) but not with Wii titles.
I hope the same as you, but for now the only thing you can do is trying the homebrew brainslug with the wup-028 module.Hiya!
I'm curious about this as well, as I was trying to play Metal Slug Anthology (Wii) using both CFG USB Loader and USB Loader GX, with the official GCN adapter that came with Smash for WiiU with an official GCN controller, and was disappointed to see it wasn't detected at all.
Got a raphnet adapter (that *does* convert the GCN controller to be detected as a classic controller) but Metal Slug Anthology, just like Samurai Shodown Anthology doesn't accept anything other than a Wiimote or GCN controller.
I really hope someone does what Nintendont did and makes detection of the official GCN adapter possible to use OG GCN controllers just like an OG Wii does with those ports still there...

OMG, SO MUCH TROUBLEI hope the same as you, but for now the only thing you can do is trying the homebrew brainslug with the wup-028 module.

Yes but your solution of using the Wiimote will ALWAYS make the Wii think you're using a classic controller, it works yes, but I would rather that the game use the GameCube controller buttons on the screen but also layout above all. In some game you select with A but punch with Y on Classic Controller, while you would select and punch both with A on a GC controller. Hooking up a GCc to a Wiimote would make you punch with the Y of the GCc.OMG, SO MUCH TROUBLE
Tbf, I also have something I've been using for years that have worked great in vWii for all Wii, GameCube and emulators all with original controllers for each system hooked up via wiimote (NES, SNES, N64, GCN, SEGA GENESIS)
https://www.raphnet-tech.com/products.php?category=Adapters
It's just games like Metal Slug Anthology and Samurai Shodown Anthology (SNK games coincidentally) that didn't bother allowing Classic Controller use that have a problem with raphnet adapters (because they are detected as Classic Controllers, although ALL buttons map correctly)
What about games on Wii that officially supported Gamecube controller?Yes but your solution of using the Wiimote will ALWAYS make the Wii think you're using a classic controller, it works yes, but I would rather that the game use the GameCube controller buttons on the screen but also layout above all. Well, this is the kind of games We're talking about. They are compatible with the gamecube controller, but above all with the gamecube connectors at the top of the Wii. So the games codes will never read the adapter connectors coming from the usb. I'm not Looking for a way to use the GCc with the adapter on Wii U's vWii on Wii game that aren't compatible with GCc in a first place. What about games on Wii that officially supported Gamecube controller?
Well, playing Shadow The Hedgehog the other day using Nintendont I could use the 2P controls by connecting my DualShock 3 with USB cable just fine. So I just figure, what's stopping someone from implementing some type of receiver to a USB-connected NSO Gamecube controller in this mode? What's the reason why it can't connect, if other HID controllers can?Well, this is the kind of games We're talking about. On Wii there is RVLoader, so maybe a day We could use this on Wii U too.

Nintendont is its own thing that has its own handling of inputs, the same doesn't apply to any Wii games.Well, playing Shadow The Hedgehog the other day using Nintendont I could use the 2P controls by connecting my DualShock 3 with USB cable just fine. All GameCube games manage the controls with the same "table" sorry I don't know or remember how to call it. Nintendont just patch this and every games understand it. Wii games on their side, how can I explain... When the Wii is running a a game there is NOTHING in background, every single game bring some assets of the Wii home button menu etc on the disc itself, they bring their IOSs etc, and every game have a controller interface that is their own, with bunch of wiimoting, Bluetooth, motion controls, Nunchuk, classic controller hook and GameCube controller. So if you want and manage to patch a Wii game to make GameCube controls action read but the serial port to the USB port, you will have to do it for every game. And differently, I mean it happen in the .dol file, the executable, the compiled code that is machine ready and no way understandable, this require reverse engineering since We don't have source code of any games.Well, playing Shadow The Hedgehog the other day using Nintendont I could use the 2P controls by connecting my DualShock 3 with USB cable just fine.
