Critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV set to launch on Switch 2 in August

Have you heard of the critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV? Known far and wide for its expanded free trial which nowadays allows you to play through not just the entirety of A Realm Reborn and the award-winning Heavensward expansion, but also the more recent Stormblood and Shadowbringers expansions up to level 80 for free with no restrictions on playtime? Sure you have! And I'm sure you'll be excited to hear the game is making the leap over to the Nintendo Switch 2 in August.

Those wanting to play will need to buy the game on the Switch 2, and subsequently maintain an active subscription for the title. The first month of play will be something of an early access period to ensure server stability, and during this time you'll be able to play without a subscription. It's not quite as simple as other console releases though, with existing players requiring a secondary subscription to play on the Switch 2. You do at least get 50% off if you have an active subscription on a different platform, but it won't be ideal if you're just somebody wanting to take your existing characters on the go. One small silver lining however is the fact that you won't need an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription.

ah yes you get to PAY to play one of the worst FF ever created locked at 25 FPS!

I've tried to Play FF8 at least 6 times throughout my life and failed to complete it every time, and I finish almost every game I ever play... it is by far the worst Final Fantasy, nice visuals aside.

I have over 1k hours in FFXIV, it's a refreshingly casual MMO that has plenty of hard mode content for solo players that doesn't punish you for not logging in to do your 'daillies' like every other MMO to soft-lock you out of high tier endgame content. Shadowbringers + Endwalker story is also peak Final Fantasy story, it could be a standalone game.

Also FF 11 was way worse :rofl2:

Keep in mind each platform requires its own expansion pass purchase as well. So you'll end up paying double if your on PC and then decide to play on the S2. As interesting this news sounds, I'll stick with PC just can't forfeit my 144hz.

So uh... a little hack/trick if you're using Gmail... Google does not consider a period to be a character in an email address, but SQEnix does... do with what info what you will if you want to make a second account and still have the email/verification/etc. come to your main email account :D
So something like [email protected] can be [email protected], and use that in a new account?

downloading now on pc due i dont have switch 2 by now,.i never heard about free trial is so big and a charactrer can simply change the job/class during the gameplay, you can play free until lvl 70 and i find that you can play 100 or 150 hours if gameplay do to the free trial without pay anything
