I made a huge mistake when changing SD cards. Instead of copying the 'Album' folder directly from the SD, I backed up the album using the function inside Data Management in the Switch settings. I thought it could be possible to restore the album from that backup, but it turns out that's not the case, because it has a different folder structure.
On the SD card, the album is structured like this:
However, if you back up the album through Data Management, the folder structure changes to:
My question is: is it possible to restore the album on the console using this backup? I'm not sure if I'm explaining this correctly, but I'm looking for a method or tool to restore the album using the backed-up files. Or, if there is a game ID database that would allow me to manually reconstruct the original folder structure. Or something to help me to rename the image files to add the game ID.
In short, I need to convert the second folder structure back into the first one so the console album can open my screenshots.
Needless to say, but I don't have a back up from my previous SD.
(I think I'm still not explaining myself well, I hope you can understand me.)
On the SD card, the album is structured like this:
Code:
Album > Year > Month > Day > File (Timestamp-Game ID)
Album > 2025 > 03 > 11 > 2025031118460900-CD8DDEDFE332FE055C049150B035121B
However, if you back up the album through Data Management, the folder structure changes to:
Code:
Album > Game Title > File (Timestamp)
Album > Echoes of Wisdom > 2025031118460900_s
