New poster for the upcoming Super Mario Galaxy Movie spotlights a surprise character

With the Super Mario Galaxy Movie set to hit theatres next week, Nintendo and Illumination have put out one final round of advertising, with a surprise character making the cut. There is some debate as to when the Ukiki truly entered the Mario universe. Some believe the enemies originally known as "Grinders" in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island are the same species, though the first time the Ukiki name was used was for the enthusiastic hat-stealing citizens of Tall Tall Mountain in Super Mario 64. Regardless of their origin they've certainly made an impact, appearing as side characters and spectators in many of Mario's secondary adventures.

Moving into the spotlight for the first time in many years, one of these iconic characters can be seen in the latest poster for the upcoming movie. Though this isn't the first time we've seen an Ukiki in the advertising, with one notably throwing a Bob-omb at Princess Peach during the trailer that debuted in February, this more focussed advertising could hint at a more significant role than originally expected.

As of the time of writing, there has been no announcement as to who will be voicing the featured Ukiki.

with how greedy nintendo is i just cant get excited about this movie. i wont see it in the theatres where a couple years ago i woulda happily gave nintendo some money and seen this in the theatre. ill happily let other people spoil the entire movie before i even watch it.

it just seems to gimmicky to be entertaining with nintendos current focus away from actual entertainment

I'm happy I didn't saw this before watching the movie. Why do people/marketing ruined so many good things with unnecessary teaser/trailer? We are going to watch the movie you don't need to spoil the good things!!!!!

Seems like Mario is just hanging around and Rosalina is the main star. That's disappointing as this is called Mario Galaxy.
