IDK but didn't someone make a hacky plugin that just forces the allocation back to 40MB?

I heard it was included with Kefir but I don't use that so I don't know if it's true or how well it works. UPDATE: Actually I just looked at the release notes on their github and a couple releases specifically mention it. Still don't know how well it works though. This would be great!
prolly to give more memory for actual games. that what Vita did in latest FW updatesAlthough it would probably heaps of reverse engineering, i'd be interesting to get an explanation why there has been such a decrease in available memory over recent firmware revisions.

you can use the memory kit package from ultrahand to edit the memory its pretty simple to use make sure you read the wiki beforehand!I heard it was included with Kefir but I don't use that so I don't know if it's true or how well it works. Does anyone have experience with this?you can use the memory kit package from ultrahand to edit the memory its pretty simple to use make sure you read the wiki beforehand!
Yeah from fw 20, where they had 40mb to play with, it’s now at around 14mb. So hopefully certain sysmodules can be updated to let things run better. Check the atmosphere githubHow do you mean their memory is taken over? Games themselves should be unaffected as long as you're not using mods or too many sysmodules?

Seems like that hasn't been updated for the latest firmwares. But the Kefir hack has been.you can use the memory kit package from ultrahand to edit the memory its pretty simple to use make sure you read the wiki beforehand!
I also had to update for Double Dragon Revive as far as beat em ups goDoes anyone have experience with this?
This look like a hassle. I'll just stick to 19.0.1 so I can keep my BOTW/TOTK mods. There aren't many good games left to be released and the only newer game I couldn't get working was Scott Pilgrim EX.

I switched over to Kefir to try it and it definitely works. You can toggle the 40MB fix in the Uberhand overlay. Homebrew that hasn't been updated or patched works perfectly on 21.2 with the fix enabled.Seems like that hasn't been updated for the latest firmwares. But the Kefir hack has been.
Are the downsides documented?I switched over to Kefir to try it and it definitely works. You can toggle the 40MB fix in the Uberhand overlay. Homebrew that hasn't been updated or patched works perfectly on 21.2 with the fix enabled.

The only downside is that games will crash if they open the web browser applet. But most games don't require that to open and you can just turn the fix off if you need that to work. Are the downsides documented?
I got that part already: there's less space for mods and custom sysmodules. But the part that I didn't get was the claim about the actual videogames themselves (no mods or anything) running worse because of this. That part didn't make sense to me. But for the time being I'm assuming I can still do the things I've always done even with 16MB instead of 40MB.Yeah from fw 20, where they had 40mb to play with, it’s now at around 14mb.
