Fire Emblem Engage was heavily censored in its English release
-This patch is NOT a complete rewrite (as that would take years), only changes some text, focusing on censorship, trying to bring the English script closer to the original one in that regard.
-Even though the patch is now complete, we would appreciate if you could inform us of any typos, or anything that is censored or poorly translated that we've missed!

We never made a complete list of changes given the large number of them, but here's a “brief” one with what was censored:
Was there any visual censorship/changes done in the English localization?
Not that we know of, but keep in mind that Nintendo sends its localization teams to Japan every 2 months to censor games while they're in production.
Do I need the DLC to use this patch?
No, the patch works fine either way.
The patch does have any known crashes or issues?
Nope. However, there could be typos or text bugs, so if you find one, please report it.
Why are you uploading this here and why now?
Well, the patch was moved to Varishangout after all the Gamebanana's debacle, but 2 years have passed, the modding scene seems more against censorship again, and we wanted to also have the patch on a more visible website, and then we were told that this website would be okay with it since they already have other FE patches, the TMS restoration patch, and the XC's patches, among others.
What's different between the version here and the one in other sites?
The patch is officially on Varis, Gamebanana, and here.
The version here is the FULL version, like the one on Varis, and both will be updated.
Gamebanana's version was abandoned 2 years ago due to admins wanting to censor the patch.
If you see this patch on any other website, be aware that someone has uploaded it without permission.

>Over 12 characters' romances and their romantic paired endings were censored or completely cut
>A lot of regular supports, Wake-up lines and emblem bond supports were censored
>The lines when checking the "Memento" item were censored (The thing you have in the desk/table next to your bed after you S-support someone)
>A lot of romantic lines around the Somniel (after you S-support someone) were censored
>The characterization of some characters was heavily censored. (Rosado, Goldmary, etc...)
>The fact that Fogado doesn't know how to "swim" was changed to not knowing how to "fish" (Localizers forgot to change the pool script, so you'll see him just standing there)
>Certain words, such as: "tomboy", "man", "men", "woman" and "women," among others, were removed from multiple conversations
>Certain topics, such as: "what type of women do men like", characters worrying about getting fat, Camilla's ear cleaning, Fogado saying that he likes to eat bananas, among others, were removed
>Emblems moaning in the "ring cleaning" mini-game was removed (you can only hear them using the Japanese VO)

Patch installation
This is called a "patch" but it's like any other mod.Pick only 1 download option from down below and do the following:
-If using the Regular version: Drag the main folder inside the .zip into the mods folder.
-If using the Cobalt version: Drag the main folder inside the .zip into Cobalt's mod folder, you can find more info on how to set-up Cobalt in their wiki.
Patch compatibility and extra info
-You need to choose ONLY 1 download option.-The patch should work on all emulators and CFW Switch.
-We recommend playing in the latest game update (v2.0), the patch is compatible with older save files, so you won't need to start over.
-In order for the patch to work you need to select the "English (NA)" text setting in-game, which may already be shown as "Uncensored English (NA)".
-The patch only edits files inside the "fe_assets_message/us/usen" folder, and all the files are independent from each other so if you don't like something in the patch,
like for example Céline's supports, you can just delete those files and enjoy the rest.
And partially unrelated, but we recently finished a TL patch for the JP version of FE Fates, including ALL its content/DLC. Go check it out if you're interested! (Only on Varishangout forums atm)
